You know what hits you first at Jasmine Palace Resort? The sheer scale of the place – it’s one of those sprawling Red Sea properties that takes a solid ten minutes to walk from the lobby to the furthest rooms. I mean, you’re basically getting a workout just heading to dinner. The resort sits right on Sahl Hasheesh Bay, which honestly is one of the prettier stretches of coastline south of Hurghada proper. The water here stays that brilliant turquoise color that makes your Instagram followers quietly hate you, and the beach is actually well-maintained (unlike some of the public stretches closer to town where you’re dodging plastic bottles).

The rooms are decent – nothing groundbreaking, but they’ve got that Egyptian resort vibe down with the warm stone tiles and heavy wooden furniture. Air conditioning works reliably, which is crucial when you’re dealing with those brutal summer afternoons where it hits 40°C and you question every life choice that brought you outside. The balcony views vary wildly depending on where they stick you – some overlook the gardens (perfectly fine), others face the sea (obviously better), and a few unfortunate souls get the parking lot vista. Check-in can be a bit of a circus during peak season, especially when the charter flights from Germany and the UK all land around the same time. Pro tip: the staff at the guest relations desk near the main pool are way more helpful than the front desk crew if you need anything sorted.

What really works here is the location within Sahl Hasheesh itself. You’re about 20 minutes from Hurghada’s airport, but far enough from the city center that you’re not dealing with the traffic chaos and construction noise. The resort has its own little ecosystem going – multiple restaurants, a decent spa, and enough pool space that you can usually find a quiet corner even when it’s packed. The diving center is solid if you’re into that, and the house reef is actually worth snorkeling, though it’s not going to blow your mind if you’ve done the really spectacular sites further south. Honestly, for a 7.8 rating, it delivers pretty much what you’d expect – comfortable, reliable, with enough character to feel like you’re actually in Egypt rather than some generic beach resort that could be anywhere. The Egyptian hospitality is genuine here, and the staff remember your name after a couple days, which always makes a difference.

  Good value for money, with helpful and friendly (mostly) staff who made every effort to be of service. Smiley faces and they seem to enjoy working at the resort. The food especially in the specialist restaurants was excellent. Given the number of people, the kitchen was catering for they worked miracles. Huge variety of high quality food, wonderfully displayed. Faultless.
  
  Special shout out to the beach staff especially Mohammed who were brilliant.
  
  What could be improved: The reception staff were uniformly dismissive, often rude and miserable. They were the first point of contact and gave a poor impression, thankfully I had little need of their services. The quality of the alcoholic drinks was grim, some were undrinkable.

  What could be improved: Entertainment is limited. Stuff is in general friendly but sometimes treats guests differently (the ones leaving more tips get better service) and others not getting the minimum standard service. Management should work on this point to ensure equal treatment of all guests.

  Buffet and food was always delicious although deserts needed more variety. Pools were clean always and was lovely seeing the gardening happen on a daily basis.

  Most of the staff are polite. The room was very spacious . Decent sandy beach. Several pools and cleanliness upheld . Breakfast was very nice.
  
  What could be improved: A few minor issues in the room like a broken door knob that wasn’t fixed during our stay. There is a big variety of food but most of it was kind of bland. Animation team /activities were very weak with no activities to do on 2 out of 3 nights.

  Staff is so friendly…. food is excellent with many varieties…. the sea is nice. I enjoyed swimming safely, the beach is great…. the room was cosy with a nice view of a pool…. many kinds of birds…at night, it was beautiful that you can go star gazing… I loved the time I stayed there.
