Hotel Description

You know what hit me first when I pulled up to JAZ Makadi Star & Spa? The sheer scale of this place – and I mean that in the best way possible. It’s positioned right at kilometer 34 on that coastal stretch between Hurghada and Safaga, which honestly puts you in this sweet spot where you’re far enough from Hurghada’s tourist chaos but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you there if you want some nightlife. The property sprawls along Makadi Bay’s coastline, and when you’re standing at the main entrance, you can actually smell that Red Sea breeze mixing with jasmine from their landscaping.

What really sets this place apart – and I’ve stayed at plenty of Red Sea resorts – is how they’ve managed to feel genuinely luxurious without being stuffy about it. The lobby’s got these soaring ceilings and marble everywhere, sure, but the staff actually remembers your name after day two, which you’d be surprised how rare that is at five-star places. The spa situation here is legit; I’m talking about therapists who know what they’re doing, not just going through the motions. The pools (there are several) have this interesting layout where you can find quiet corners even when the place is packed – which it often is during European winter months, just so you know. I spent most mornings at the infinity pool that faces the bay, and honestly, watching the sun come up over the water while having Egyptian coffee is something I still think about.

The beach access is what really sold me though. You’re not dealing with rocky shores or having to wear water shoes – it’s actual sand that slopes gently into crystal-clear water where you can snorkel right off the beach. I saw parrotfish and angelfish just swimming around the resort’s little reef area, which means you don’t have to book those expensive boat trips unless you really want to. The dining gets a bit repetitive if you’re staying more than a week (I was there for ten days), but the seafood is incredibly fresh – they’ve got this grilled fish night that’s worth planning around. One small thing that bugged me: the WiFi in rooms can be spotty, especially on the upper floors, though the lobby connection works fine. Check-in was smooth, parking’s free and actually spacious, and the rooms are properly soundproofed – I never heard neighbors or hallway noise, which after staying at some places in Sharm el Sheikh was such a relief. That 9.3 rating makes total sense when you add everything up; it’s one of those places where small thoughtful touches pile up into something genuinely memorable.

  The staff really go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The room was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with every luxury including fresh beach towels daily, a mini bar and laundry service. Between the buffets 3x times a day, the pool-side bar and the beach bar there was an incredible variety of foods, snacks, and drinks avaliable at all hours of the day. We also loved the entertainment, the spa and the 1 day free entry to the water park with the best water slides we have ever experienced.
  The resort grounds are beautifully decorated and well kept and add to the experience.

  The staff were amazing—very friendly and accommodating. You truly feel like you're visiting family while on vacation. The food was excellent in both variety and taste. Beach is so nice and sandy. A big thank you to all the hotel leaders; you are doing an outstanding job! Spa was also Amazing, although it was a bit pricey but good.

  We had a wonderful stay! The hospitality was truly exceptional—everyone was so friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home.   When we took about food nothing compared to jaz makadi star & spa , I can’t express how amazing and delicious the food was starting from the breakfast which had exceptional variety till the dinner. The staff in the restaurant also made sure that we had everything we needed during our meals.
  The level of care and hospitality from the entire team is what makes this place stand out. It’s rare to find out such genuine, thoughtful service where you feel like more than just a guest.
  We can’t wait to return for our next stay. Highly recommended.
