You know what caught me off guard about Juliana Beach Resort? For a 3-star place in Hurghada, it actually punches way above its weight – and I mean that in the best possible way. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up (parking’s pretty straightforward, by the way), but there’s something genuinely welcoming about this spot that you don’t always find along Egypt’s Red Sea coast.

The location is honestly perfect if you want that authentic Hurghada beach vibe without the chaos of the main hotel strip. You’re right on the water – and I’m talking actual beachfront here, not one of those places where you have to trek through three other properties to find sand. The Red Sea does its thing beautifully right outside your window, with that incredible turquoise color that somehow looks fake in photos but hits different when you’re actually there. Mornings are particularly magical because you catch the sunrise over the water, and the beach tends to be quieter before the day-trippers show up around 10 AM.

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to actually care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth – none of that standing-around-waiting nonsense you sometimes get at bigger resorts. The rooms are clean and functional (I mean, it’s a 3-star, so manage expectations accordingly), but everything works and there’s genuine attention to detail. The air conditioning actually keeps up with the Egyptian heat, which honestly deserves its own praise. You can hear some street sounds if you’re a super light sleeper, but it’s more like the gentle hum of local life rather than anything disruptive.

The restaurant situation is where things get interesting – they serve solid Egyptian classics alongside tourist-friendly international options, and the seafood is legitimately fresh. I’m pretty sure they source locally because you can taste the difference. The pool area becomes this lovely social hub in the evenings, with just enough activity to feel alive but not so much that you can’t have a conversation. During peak season (think November through March), it gets busier but never feels overcrowded – they seem to manage capacity really well.

Honestly, the 8.9 rating makes complete sense once you spend a few days here. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I actually found refreshing. You’re getting genuine Egyptian hospitality, a prime beach location, and solid fundamentals without the inflated prices of the massive resort complexes down the coast. Plus, you’re close enough to Hurghada’s main areas that you can easily explore the local markets and restaurants when you want a change of pace, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with constant noise and crowds.

If you’re looking for over-the-top luxury, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuine, well-run beachfront hotel where you can actually relax and enjoy the Red Sea without breaking the bank or dealing with resort madness – well, Juliana Beach Resort definitely delivers on that promise.

  The person managing the property is probably the most helpful human on the entire planet. To say he went the extra mile is underselling it. Probably the most helpful anyone has ever been to me abroad. Helped me through a nightmare where one airline stranded me in Egypt and another denied my boarding to leave.
  
  What could be improved: There is no downside to this place so far. The only thing I would say and this has nothing to do with Juliana or the management is that the shops next to it are really tourist prices. So just be aware. So just order stuff off a mobile delivery app and it's perfect.
