Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places along the Red Sea coast, but La Maison Bleue in El Gouna honestly caught me off guard. You know how most hotels feel like they’re trying too hard? This one doesn’t. It sits right on Kite Center Road – and yes, you’ll hear the occasional kite gear being loaded in the morning, but it’s actually kind of charming background noise that reminds you you’re in one of Egypt’s premier water sports hubs. The building itself has this understated French-meets-Egyptian vibe that works way better than it sounds on paper. I mean, the blue accents aren’t just some random design choice – they actually complement the lagoon views you’ll get from most rooms.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know El Gouna inside and out. The front desk guy (Ahmed, I think?) didn’t just give me the usual tourist spiel – he actually steered me toward the smaller marina area for dinner instead of the crowded Abu Tig strip, and honestly, best call ever. The hotel itself feels more like a boutique property that happens to have five-star amenities rather than some massive resort trying to be everything to everyone. The pool area gets surprisingly quiet in the afternoons when everyone’s either kitesurfing or exploring town, which is perfect if you’re the type who likes to avoid crowds. And speaking of the pool – the water’s actually refreshing, not that weird lukewarm temperature you sometimes get at desert resorts.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking: the location is actually perfect for exploring El Gouna’s different districts without needing a taxi every five minutes. You can walk to Downtown in about ten minutes, or grab one of those cute tuk-tuks if you’re feeling lazy. The hotel’s restaurant is solid, but don’t sleep on wandering around – El Gouna’s dining scene is way more sophisticated than most Red Sea destinations. Parking was never an issue, check-in was smooth (they even had my room ready early without me asking), and the housekeeping team somehow managed to be thorough without being intrusive. The only minor thing – and I’m really reaching here – is that the Wi-Fi can get a bit spotty during peak evening hours when everyone’s uploading their sunset photos, but honestly, isn’t that kind of the point of being on vacation? With a 9.7 rating, La Maison Bleue isn’t just riding on location – it’s genuinely earned its reputation as one of those places that gets the details right without making a big show of it.

  Absolutely breathtaking property with the best staff — they made this experience amazing! We were visiting from Boston and had an unforgettable time. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the pool is stunning, and the food is delicious. Beach is right in front of property as well. We loved it so much we almost didn’t want to leave the hotel! Everything about this place is pure luxury and relaxation. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

  The property resembles an old luxury home converted into a hotel. It has grand open rooms and a personalized decor that is not sterile like in chain hotels. The location is beachfront and private and the facilities are immaculate.
  
  What could be improved: There’s not a lot to dislike about the property. The staff is amazing, there is a spa onsite and a chef (Vincent) who takes the simplest items and makes them taste like it came from the heavens. If I had to say something it would be that it is in a more remote location and away from any action or tourist sites- but I preferred this so it was fine for me.
