You know what struck me first about Ladybird – Azzurra Beauty? The name honestly sounds way fancier than what you’d expect from a 3-star place, but that’s actually part of its charm. This little gem sits right on Sahl Hashish Road – and if you’re not familiar with Hurghada, that’s basically the stretch where the newer resorts are popping up, away from the sometimes chaotic downtown area. The drive from the airport takes about 20 minutes, and honestly, you’ll pass some pretty impressive 5-star places on the way, which might make you second-guess your choice. Don’t.

Here’s the thing about this place – it punches way above its weight class. I mean, an 8.4 rating for a 3-star hotel? That doesn’t happen by accident. The staff here actually seem to care, which sounds like a small thing until you’ve stayed at places where getting fresh towels feels like negotiating a peace treaty. The lobby has this sort of modern-meets-Mediterranean vibe that works better than it should, and check-in was surprisingly smooth (though I’d still recommend arriving after 3 PM because, well, Egypt time). The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out – someone actually considered where you’d want to plug in your phone and where to hang wet swimsuits. The air conditioning works properly, which honestly is half the battle in Hurghada’s heat.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail and the location balance they’ve struck. You’re close enough to Sahl Hashish Bay that the water activities are right there – the snorkeling is actually decent, and the beach isn’t the crowded mess you’ll find closer to town – but you’re not so isolated that grabbing dinner somewhere different requires a major expedition. The hotel restaurant is pretty solid (their seafood is fresh, probably because they’re not trying to feed 500 people every night), and there’s a little poolside bar where the bartender, Ahmed, makes surprisingly good cocktails. The pool area gets busy around 11 AM when families claim their spots, but early morning and late afternoon are perfect for actual swimming. One small thing – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, but it’s reliable in the lobby and restaurant areas. The whole place has this relaxed, almost boutique-y feel that makes you forget you’re not paying luxury prices. It’s the kind of place where you end up chatting with other guests because everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, not just making the best of a budget choice.

  Immaculately presented , contemporary decoration, a beautiful (and huge) bathroom, very clean and….a comfy bed. The kitchen looked to be really well appointed. The apartment benefits from a peaceful location on the stunning Azzurra Sahl Hasheesh destination where you have access to lots of swimming pools, a good restaurant/bar and a (very) mini market. Azzurra is about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the Old Town – perfectly do-able for an evening – although you might want to consider the delivery service from the local supermarket there as its an uphill walk back ! Azzurra also offer a shuttle service. We also liked the small balcony leading from the living room for a drink in the evening.
  
  What could be improved: At the time of our stay the TV needed connecting to pick up local and satellite channels so you might want to check this before you book if it is important to you. The views from Azzurra are far better than watching TV however.

  What could be improved: The owner demanded Cash which was not mentioned in any communication charged 1100 US dollars instead of 759 as through booking.com.
  He the tried to charge another 30 dollars for blood on sheets from mosquito bites I and the wife had whilst out there
  The walk to the beach took 20 minutes each day through a building site.

  Ich habe die Wohnung für drei Wochen gemietet und war rundum zufrieden. Die Unterkunft war ordentlich und sauber sowie gut ausgestattet. Besonders begeistert hat mich die ruhige und sichere Lage mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick. Zudem war die Wohnung sehr geräumig, und es gab einen kostenlosen Beach-Transfer. Und große Auswahl von Pools Vorort
  
  Ein großes Lob geht an die Vermieter, Herrn Seif und Herrn Mazen. Sie waren äußerst freundlich, hilfsbereit und jederzeit erreichbar. Sie haben uns in jeder Hinsicht unterstützt – vielen Dank dafür!
