So I’ve been to El Gouna more times than I can count, and honestly, the Ladybird – Shedwan Horizon caught me off guard in the best way possible. When you first pull up to this place on Shedwan – which, by the way, most tourists don’t even know exists because it’s tucked away from the main El Gouna strip – you get this immediate sense that you’ve stumbled onto something the locals have been keeping to themselves. The entrance doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier resorts closer to the marina, but that’s actually what I love about it.

The thing about staying here is that you’re technically in El Gouna but you feel like you’re experiencing a completely different side of it. I mean, you can still easily get to Downtown or Abu Tig Marina (maybe a 10-minute drive), but when you’re sitting on their terrace in the evening, you’re not dealing with the crowds or the constant hum of tour buses. The staff here – and I’m talking about people who’ve been working in El Gouna for years – they actually remember your name after day one, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re trying to unwind. The rooms have this understated elegance that feels more like a well-appointed friend’s place than a hotel room, if that makes sense. You know what really got me though? The way they handle the little things. Like, they’ll tell you the best time to head out for snorkeling based on the actual wind conditions that day, not just hand you a generic brochure.

What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the whole El Gouna ecosystem. You’re close enough to the Red Sea that you can literally taste the salt air, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you can actually hear the water at night instead of music from beach bars. The location means you can explore the mangroves easily – something most visitors miss entirely because they stick to the resort areas. I’ve stayed here during both peak season and the quieter months, and honestly, it shines in both. During the busy winter months, it feels like a peaceful retreat, and in the shoulder seasons, it’s almost like having your own private slice of the Red Sea coast. The 9-rating they’ve got isn’t just numbers on a screen – it’s the kind of place where you find yourself extending your stay because leaving feels premature. Plus, and this is purely practical, the parking situation is actually manageable, which anyone who’s tried to navigate El Gouna during peak times will appreciate.

  Beautiful apartment, very comfortable and with great views. Nice and reactive host. There is a beautiful private rooftop, a pool, and beach. I would certainly book this property again.
  
  What could be improved: I encountered a few hiccups at the start but they were fixed by the host in a timely matter, also probably since it's a new listing. The location is good if you have a car, but otherwise only certain transport app work there. The pool is nice but there are no chairs or anything at all to sit on there, same with the beach, so hopefully they will add long chairs to both.
