So I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Lagoon View Penthouse” in the name, I was expecting some marketing fluff, but this place in El Gouna actually delivers on that promise. The moment you step onto that top roof terrace, you get it. The lagoon stretches out in front of you with these impossibly blue waters, and honestly, it’s one of those views that makes you forget to check your phone for a while.

The location is pretty sweet too – Building C4 in the Water Side Condos puts you right in the heart of El Gouna without being stuck in the chaos of downtown Hurghada. You know what’s nice? You can actually walk to the marina and grab dinner without needing a taxi every time, which saves you from those “tourist price” negotiations. The building itself is well-maintained (I mean, some of these developments in the area can be hit or miss), and being on the second floor means you’re not dealing with ground-floor noise but also not climbing endless stairs when the elevator’s being temperamental.

What really got me was how the space flows between the main apartment and that rooftop access – it’s like having two different experiences in one booking. During the day, you’ve got the comfortable indoor space when the sun gets intense (and trust me, it does), then as evening rolls around, you migrate upstairs where there’s usually a decent breeze coming off the water. The sunsets from up there are honestly ridiculous – I found myself timing my whole day around them.

The practical stuff matters too, and this place gets most of it right. The AC works properly (crucial in this heat), there’s decent water pressure, and the kitchen setup is actually functional if you want to grab supplies from the local market instead of eating out every meal. Parking isn’t a nightmare like in some parts of El Gouna, and the building’s entrance is easy enough for taxi drivers to find – which sounds minor until you’re trying to direct someone at 2 AM after a night out at one of the marina bars.

Look, it’s rated 3 stars officially, but that 9.7 guest rating tells the real story. Sometimes these government ratings don’t capture what actually matters to travelers – like having a host who responds quickly, or a view that makes your Instagram followers genuinely jealous, or just that feeling of having found a little slice of paradise that doesn’t cost resort prices. The whole El Gouna vibe is pretty special anyway – it’s got this planned community feel that’s way more chill than Hurghada proper, with better infrastructure and cleaner streets. But getting a penthouse setup with lagoon views? That’s where you start feeling like you’re doing Egypt right.
