You know what really struck me about this place? It’s one of those finds where the name actually tells you everything you need to know – you’re literally right on Swan Lake’s lagoon, and honestly, that view from your bedroom window never gets old. I mean, El Gouna isn’t exactly a hidden gem anymore, but this particular spot still feels like you’ve stumbled onto something special, especially when you’re sipping your morning coffee and watching the water change colors as the sun comes up.

The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – it’s a solid one-bedroom setup that doesn’t try to be fancy but gets all the basics right. The kitchen’s actually functional (I cooked there a few times, which says something), and the bedroom’s got good blackout potential if you’re trying to sleep off some jet lag or a late night at one of El Gouna’s bars. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even during the busier winter months when half of Europe seems to descend on the Red Sea coast. The lagoon acts like this natural sound buffer, so you get water views without the chaos of being right on the main marina – which, let’s be honest, can get pretty hectic around sunset when everyone’s doing their Instagram thing.

Location-wise, you’re in that sweet spot where you can walk to the downtown area without feeling like you’re in the thick of tourist central. The little bridges connecting El Gouna’s islands are right there, so you can easily wander over to the Tamr Henna square area for dinner or hit up Steigenberger’s beach if you want to upgrade your sand situation for the day. And here’s something the guidebooks don’t tell you – the taxi boats actually run pretty regularly from near the property, which is clutch when you don’t feel like walking in the heat. Parking’s not an issue if you rent a car (which I’d recommend for exploring beyond El Gouna), and the whole check-in process was refreshingly drama-free. Sure, it’s a 3-star place, but that 8.8 rating isn’t just because people have low expectations – it’s because sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable base with a killer view that doesn’t cost a fortune. Perfect for couples or solo travelers who’d rather spend their money on diving trips or those ridiculously good seafood dinners than on hotel amenities they’ll never use.

  Het appartement voldeed aan de beschrijving en het was er super rustig en mooi groen aangelegd met een groot zwembad.
  
  What could be improved: Ik vond het vervelend dat er geen fatsoenlijke veger, vaatdoeken oid en geen vuilniszakken aanwezig waren. Een elektrische racket om de muggen te doden was ook wel fijn geweest. Het wemelt er van vliegen, muggen en andere insecten, dus je kon niet echt lekker buiten zitten en je moest alles dichthouden anders had je de hele nacht last van stekende muggen. Ik vond het ook jammer dat er geen fysieke receptie aanwezig was en er was ook verder geen vermaak en een eet of drink gelegenheid op het terrein. Communicatie met host was ook niet altijd top omdat alles via WhatsApp ging en de medewerkers die kwamen slecht tot geen Engels spreken.
  
  Bij aankomst viel mij gelijk al op dat de hygiëne vh het appartement niet best was. Zo lag er een dikke laag stof op een kastje, deuren waren behoorlijk vies en ook de douche vloer zag er vies uit en onpraktisch qua ruimte.
  
  Wat ook een beetje vervelend was dat ze bijna elke dag het gras sproeiden wat natuurlijk nodig is maar dat ze de zware lig bedden daarvoor op het terras plaatsten, maar niet terug zetten. Het terras werd daardoor smerig en ze veegde niet buiten al het zand en de gevallen bloem bladeren weg.
