Honestly, when I first pulled up to this place at El Gouna’s entrance, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star property with such a mouthful of a name. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. This spot at Mangroovy – and yes, that’s actually what they call this little corner of El Gouna – completely caught me off guard in the best way possible.

The whole setup feels like someone took a proper resort concept and shrunk it down to something way more intimate and, well, livable. You’ve got this 2-bedroom place that opens right onto your own slice of garden space, and I mean actually private – not that fake privacy where you’re basically sharing a patio with strangers. The pool situation is brilliant because you’re not fighting for lounge chairs at 6 AM like you do at those massive resort complexes down the coast toward Hurghada proper. The sea view isn’t just marketing speak either; you can actually see the water from the main bedroom, though you’ll want to grab the corner spot on the little terrace for the best angle.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits right at El Gouna’s entrance – which sounds like it might be noisy or inconvenient, but it’s actually perfect. You’re close enough to duck into town for dinner (the seafood place about ten minutes walk toward the marina is ridiculously good), but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually hear the water lapping at night instead of music pumping from hotel bars. The mangrove area they’ve built around gives everything this sort of tropical hideaway feel, even though you’re basically in the desert. I spent way too many mornings just sitting in that garden with coffee, watching the light change over the water – honestly didn’t expect to find that kind of peaceful moment in what’s technically a vacation rental.

The practical stuff works too, which isn’t always a given in Egypt. Check-in was smooth, parking is right there (huge plus if you’re driving down from Cairo), and the AC actually keeps up with the heat, even in summer. Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with fancy amenities or room service, but that 9.9 rating makes sense when you realize what you’re getting for the price point. The kitchen’s properly equipped if you want to grab fresh fish from the local market, and there’s something satisfying about having your own space instead of being herded around a hotel lobby with everyone else. I’d definitely come back – actually, I’m already planning to, probably in shoulder season when the crowds thin out but the weather’s still perfect for that private pool situation.

  The place was spotlessly clean and very close to the beach. Wonderful view over the pool and close enough to most services by foot. Special thanks to the owner, Mr. Medhat, for such a welcoming attitude. Thanks also to the property manager Mr. Michael for providing such a wonderful service and being super helpful with alot of requests from us.

  I love Egypt, but truly, I've never seen such a high standard furnished apartment for rent! Every single thing was excellent: cleanliness, the very comfortable beds, the views of the swimming pool, sea , and at the top, the care, patience, and generosity of Mr. Medhat, who was kind enough to be with us in every step even to help us with the arrangements of our pickup and dropping to and from the residence, which was an excellent choice, it's cleanliness vibes, positive energy, the beautiful lovely and lively beach, the huge clean swimming pools, the beach club where we enjoyed the music and the food, also the proximity of the location to all attractions, the marina and the activities, regardless to mention the high security and very sweet polite staff, we enjoyed literally every thing!
