Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in El Gouna over the years, but this ground-floor apartment in West Golf actually surprised me – and honestly, that 9.9 rating isn’t just fluke numbers. You know what hit me first? The fact that you can literally walk out your door and be at the pool in maybe thirty seconds, no elevator waits or trudging up stairs with beach gear. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice place than some cookie-cutter hotel room.

The West Golf area itself is sort of the sweet spot in El Gouna – you’re close enough to Downtown that you can walk to Abu Tig Marina for dinner (takes about fifteen minutes if you don’t get distracted by the lagoon views), but far enough from the main action that you actually sleep at night. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional golf cart puttering by, but that’s about it. The lagoon access they mention? It’s the real deal. You can kayak or paddleboard right from the shoreline, and in the early morning when the water’s still glassy, it’s honestly pretty magical – though I realize that sounds cheesy given the place’s name.

What really works here is how they’ve thought through the practical stuff. The kitchen actually has proper cookware (not those sad hotel attempts), which matters if you want to grab fresh fish from the Downtown market and cook it yourself. The AC runs quietly – crucial during those brutal summer months when Hurghada hits 40+ degrees. And the Wi-Fi reaches the pool area, so you can actually work from the loungers if that’s your thing. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the golf course gets busy around 7 AM, so if you’re hoping to sleep until noon every day, maybe request a unit facing the lagoon side. But honestly, watching the golfers while having morning coffee isn’t the worst way to start your day. The whole experience feels effortless in a way that’s pretty rare – you’re not constantly figuring out logistics or dealing with annoying hotel policies, you’re just… there, in this surprisingly beautiful corner of the Red Sea coast.

  Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful.
  chalet was spotlessly clean and to our satisfaction – and I'm very pleased to say it absolutely was. The chalet is well-equipped and comfortable and perfectly situated – a stone's throw from the lagoon and swimming pool. We've stayed in quite a few places in the area, and this is one of the few that I'll return to and recommend.

  Great location and host. Bathrooms are clean and fresh beds and towels. And directly in front of the pool. 5 mins from abu tig marina, and 2 mins from downtown.
