The moment you step out the door, you’re practically on the sand already – and I mean that literally, not in that “beachfront property” way hotels love to stretch. We’re talking maybe thirty seconds of walking before your toes hit the Red Sea coastline, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re juggling beach gear and trying to claim a decent spot before the day-trippers arrive from Hurghada proper.

The cabana itself has this laid-back vibe that works perfectly for Soma Bay – it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and smart about what beach people actually need. The pool situation is pretty sweet too, especially in the afternoons when the beach gets a bit crowded (usually around 2-3 PM when the tour groups roll in). I spent most mornings by the water since it stays cooler, then would drift back to the pool area when things got busy. The whole setup just flows naturally, you know? Plus, having both options right there means you’re never stuck dealing with red flag days when the sea gets rough – which happens more than you’d think, especially during winter months.

What really sells this place, though, is how it captures that genuine Red Sea experience without the resort bubble feeling you get at some of the bigger properties down the coast. You’re still close enough to everything in Soma Bay (the marina’s maybe a ten-minute walk if you’re feeling ambitious), but far enough removed that you actually hear the waves at night instead of pool parties and lobby music. The local staff genuinely seem to enjoy what they’re doing, which – let’s be honest – isn’t always the case at beach destinations. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that “welcome drink while we explain seventeen amenities you’ll never use” routine. They basically handed over the keys, pointed toward the beach, and let us figure out our own rhythm. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially if you’ve been bouncing between overly managed hotel experiences. It’s the kind of place where you might actually read that book you packed instead of just using it as a pillow.
