You know what caught me off guard about Mangroovy? The name sounds a bit cheesy, but honestly, once you’re sitting on that ground floor terrace watching the water lap right up to the edge of the property, you get it. This isn’t your typical El Gouna resort experience – it’s more like staying in someone’s really nice waterfront apartment that happens to have a pool you can literally step into from your bedroom.

The whole M7 complex in El Gouna has this modern, almost Miami-esque vibe that’s completely different from the older parts of town. I mean, El Gouna itself is already this planned resort community about 30 minutes north of Hurghada – sort of an artificial paradise, but a well-done one. What makes this particular spot special is that direct pool access thing they mention. It’s not marketing fluff; you actually open your patio door and there’s the pool, maybe three steps away. Perfect if you’re the type who likes to float around with a coffee in the morning before anyone else is awake. The water stays surprisingly warm even in the cooler months, which is something you don’t always get with these shared pools.

The apartment itself feels more spacious than most hotel rooms – you’ve got a proper living area, decent kitchen setup (though honestly, with all the restaurants in El Gouna, you probably won’t cook much), and the bedroom opens right onto that waterfront view. The furnishings are modern without being sterile, sort of that international hotel chain aesthetic but with more personality. Air conditioning works well, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with Red Sea heat. One thing to note – ground floor means you’ll hear people walking around the pool area during the day, but it quiets down pretty early since El Gouna isn’t really a party destination.

Getting around is easy enough; El Gouna runs those little tuk-tuk shuttles everywhere, and the downtown area with the marina and main restaurants is maybe a 10-minute ride. The beach clubs are close too, though having that direct pool access means you might find yourself being lazier about venturing out. Parking’s not an issue if you rent a car – there’s space, and honestly, driving around El Gouna is pretty stress-free compared to anywhere else in Egypt.

For the price point, you’re getting solid value. It’s not luxury – the finishes are nice but not fancy, and it’s definitely more apartment-style than hotel-style service. But that direct water access and the location within El Gouna’s better neighborhood make it worth considering, especially if you want something that feels a bit more residential and less touristy than the big resorts. Just don’t expect daily housekeeping or a concierge – you’re trading some hotel services for that waterfront privacy and the freedom to come and go as you please.
