So I stumbled across this place called Mangroovy while looking for something different in El Gouna – you know how most Red Sea resorts can feel pretty cookie-cutter? Well, this 2-bedroom spot actually surprised me. The name’s a bit cheesy, I’ll give you that, but honestly, it works because you’re literally looking out at this gorgeous lagoon pool area that feels way more intimate than those massive resort pools where you’re fighting for space.

The apartment itself is proper spacious – I mean, you’ve got two full bedrooms, which is rare to find at this price point in El Gouna. What really got me was stepping out onto that balcony in the morning with my coffee and seeing the pool area come to life. There’s something about the way the light hits the water around 7am that’s just… well, it beats scrolling through your phone, put it way. The place feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense – like someone actually thought about how you’d want to spread out after a day of diving or kite surfing. The kitchen’s functional too, which matters because sometimes you just want to grab some fresh fish from the Marina and cook it yourself instead of doing restaurants every night.

Location-wise, you’re in the sweet spot of El Gouna where you can walk to the Marina for dinner (about 10 minutes, really pleasant stroll) but you’re not dealing with the noise that comes with being right in the thick of things. I actually appreciated this during my stay because El Gouna can get pretty lively, especially on weekends when the Cairo crowd comes down. The whole Mangroovy complex has this laid-back vibe that attracts a mix of long-term visitors and people who’ve figured out that El Gouna is way more chill than Hurghada proper. You’ll hear German, Arabic, and English floating around the pool area, which somehow adds to the atmosphere rather than making it feel chaotic.

What really sealed it for me was the little details – the shower actually has decent water pressure (trust me, this matters after a day in the sun), there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train. Plus, the building’s management seems to actually care about maintenance, which isn’t always a given in this part of the world. The pool area stays clean, the common areas don’t feel neglected, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward.

Look, it’s not going to win any design awards, and if you’re expecting five-star luxury, you’re in the wrong place. But for what it is – a solid, comfortable base for exploring El Gouna with enough space to actually relax – it really delivers. That 9.3 rating isn’t inflated; people genuinely seem to leave here happy. I’d definitely come back, especially if I was planning a longer stay or traveling with friends who’d appreciate having separate bedrooms. Sometimes the best places are the ones that just work without trying too hard to impress you.

  Superbe appartement tout confort avec une belle terrasse ombragée vue piscine, très appréciable.
  La résidence est calme, grande piscine très propre. Proximité de la plage et de la marina avec nombreux restaurants disponibles. Nombreux tuktuk à prix fixe peu élevé pour se déplacer dans El gouna.
  Propriétaire très serviable et arrangeant. Nous avons passé un super séjour !
