After spending time at this El Gouna spot, the name actually makes sense. There’s something genuinely laid-back about this place that grows on you, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The apartment sits right in the heart of El Gouna’s resort town vibe, which is basically Egypt’s attempt at creating a Red Sea paradise – and honestly, they’ve done a pretty decent job. What struck me first was how quiet RT1-M3 actually is, considering you’re walking distance from the marina and all the restaurants along Abu Tig. The morning light hits the apartment beautifully (if you’re into that sort of thing), and there’s this constant gentle breeze that reminds you why people built towns by the water in the first place. The setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel – you’ve got proper space to spread out, a kitchen that’s actually functional, and none of that cramped resort room feeling where you’re tripping over your suitcase every five minutes.

Here’s what I really appreciate about staying here: El Gouna operates on what I call “island time,” even though it’s technically mainland Egypt. Everything moves at this relaxed pace, and this apartment fits right into that rhythm. You’re close enough to walk to the downtown area when you want some action – the restaurants around Abu Tig Marina are solid, especially if you hit them during the less touristy dinner hours. But when you want to just chill out, the apartment gives you that option without feeling isolated. The locals I chatted with mentioned that this part of town stays pretty calm even during peak season, which tracks with my experience. Parking was never an issue (always a relief when you’re dealing with rental cars in resort towns), and the whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no bureaucratic nonsense or hidden fees springing up at the last minute. I mean, with a 9.6 rating, you’d expect things to run smoothly, but it’s nice when reality matches expectations. The Red Sea is right there when you need it, the desert’s dramatic backdrop never gets old, and you’ve got enough space and amenities to actually live a bit rather than just crash between activities. It’s the kind of place that makes you understand why some people end up extending their stays in El Gouna way longer than originally planned.
