You know what caught me off guard about Mangroovy Gouna? It’s actually got this laid-back vibe that feels worlds away from the typical Red Sea resort chaos, even though you’re technically still in the whole El Gouna development. I mean, when I first pulled up to the M9 building (it’s pretty easy to spot once you get the hang of El Gouna’s quirky numbering system), I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another apartment complex. But honestly, this one-bedroom setup turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there – not in a weird way, but in that comfortable, everything-makes-sense way that’s rare in vacation rentals. The bedroom’s got proper blackout curtains, which you’ll appreciate if you’re planning to sleep in after late nights in downtown Gouna, and the living area opens up nicely so it doesn’t feel cramped even when you’re spending the hottest part of the day inside with the AC cranked up. What really sold me was the kitchen situation – it’s not huge, but it’s actually functional. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, let’s be honest, eating out for every meal in El Gouna adds up fast, and there’s a decent grocery spot just a short walk away near the marina area.

The location thing is interesting because you’re sort of in this sweet spot where you can walk to the main Gouna action without being right in the middle of it. The Mangroovy area stays pretty quiet at night – I could hear the gentle lapping from the lagoons nearby, which beats the party noise from some of the more central spots. Parking was never an issue, which anyone who’s driven around El Gouna during peak season will tell you is no small thing. The whole complex feels well-maintained too; the common areas are clean, the elevators work (trust me, this matters when you’re hauling dive gear), and I never had any issues with water pressure or WiFi cutting out during video calls back home. Actually, the internet was surprisingly solid – way better than I expected for what’s essentially a resort town built on a bunch of lagoons. If I’m being completely honest, the only minor thing was that the balcony furniture could use an update, but the view toward the water more than makes up for it. For the price point and that 9.1 rating, I can see why people keep coming back here – it’s got that “home base” feeling that makes exploring the Red Sea actually relaxing instead of exhausting.

  Spacious apartment, all the facilities to feel at home. There was also bicycle to use , which was great to get around El Gouna with. Apartment is 2 min walk from Kitesurf spot Red Sea Zone 😊

  Location is perfect super close to the beach, specially if you are looking to kitesurf. The appartment is well equipped with everything new, very clean and super comfortable. The owner is also very quick in replying! Super recommended 🙂
