Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Marina Sky? It’s one of those places that punches way above its weight class. I mean, walking up to this 3-star spot on Sheraton Street – right by that familiar Gomla Market everyone in Hurghada knows – I wasn’t expecting much. But honestly, there’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone and just nails the basics really well.

The location is actually pretty clever when you think about it. You’re tucked away from the main tourist chaos but still close enough to everything that matters. That Gomla Market next door? It’s a godsend for grabbing snacks, water, or random stuff you forgot to pack without paying hotel prices. And being on Sheraton Street means you’re not dealing with the noise from the main marina drag, but you can still walk there in about ten minutes when you want the action. The taxi drivers all know exactly where it is too – just say “beside Gomla Market” and you’re golden.

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth, no weird surprise fees, and they actually gave useful local advice instead of just pushing expensive tours. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the AC works properly (crucial in Hurghada heat), the beds are decent, and the bathrooms have good water pressure. I mean, that’s honestly all you need after a day of diving or wandering around town. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which isn’t always a given in this part of Egypt. You can tell they’ve put thought into the little things that matter to actual travelers rather than just Instagram moments. The whole place has this relaxed, no-nonsense vibe that I found pretty appealing – especially compared to some of the more pretentious places along the coast that charge twice as much for half the personality.

  Spacious apartment with modern and comfortable furniture. Kitchen has enough equipment to make a light meal, all appliances were working and in good condition. Great sound isolation – when the windows were shut we didn´t hear the noises from always busy city center. The staff was lovely and very kind, specially both girls in reception, they helped us even with errands not directly connected to our accommodation. The location is more than excellent – the Sheraton street, New Marina, El Sakia Beach and downtown are near by, just a few minutes by foot. Gomla supermarket is next door (huge assortment and low prices, popular among Egyptians as well), a fair-price farmacy too. This accommodation is a really good value for the money!
  
  What could be improved: 1. It would be great to have washing machine inside an apartment.
  2. Although the apartment was generally clean, it would be even better if the less obvious surfaces like curtains and walls in the living room area get some clean too from time to time.

  Hotel is in a very good place, in the middle of the downtown. In the same block as the hotel, there is a big supermarket (so buying food is easy), and lots of other shops. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and well equipped.
  
  What could be improved: It is absolutely not the hotel's fault, but sometimes (especially during the night), electricity just goes away for certain amount of time (10 minutes – 1 hour). This is not the hotel's fault, but be prepared for this, if you come visit this section of the town.

  The reception is open 24/7, our flight was delayed so we checked in late at night, no one had a problem with that, the staff were very nice. The accommodation is located less than 5 minutes walk from the beautiful harbor where we spent most of our time and about 3 minutes walk from the main busiest street where you can buy souvenirs. Right next to the hotel is a large supermarket open until night. You can pay by card. There is also an ATM next to the hotel that will exchange money/currency for you.
  
  What could be improved: We had a large apartment for 5 people and unfortunately it was not very clean. However, it should be taken into account that this is mostly standard for Egypt. We did not see any unwanted animals, but if the floor and carpet were vacuumed more, we would have better impressions. The location of the hotel will certainly not be suitable for people who have a weak sleep, as the street is busy all night, people are talking under the windows and cars are honking.
