Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Marina Apartment” I was expecting something pretty basic, but MB13 actually surprised me in the best way. The location alone is worth talking about because you’re literally right on Abu Tig Marina, which honestly feels like the heart of El Gouna. I mean, you walk out your door and there are these gorgeous yachts bobbing around, plus all the waterfront restaurants and bars are right there. The whole setup feels more like a proper resort town than just another Red Sea hotel strip.

The apartment itself is solid – nothing too fancy, but everything works and it’s got that clean, modern vibe that makes you feel settled rather than like you’re camping out. What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup because, you know what, sometimes you want to grab some fresh fish from the local market and actually cook it yourself instead of paying resort prices for everything. The balcony situation is pretty sweet too – depending on which unit you get, you’re looking out over the marina or the lagoons, and honestly both views have their charm. I spent way too many mornings just sitting there with coffee watching the boats head out for diving trips.

Here’s the thing about El Gouna that people don’t always realize – it’s this completely planned town that somehow doesn’t feel artificial, and being right in Abu Tig puts you in the thick of it. You can walk to Captain Hani for decent seafood (locals actually eat there, which is always a good sign), or if you’re feeling lazy, there’s a little grocery store basically next door. The whole area gets pretty lively in the evenings, but it’s not the kind of obnoxious party scene you get in some resort towns – more like actual nightlife that happens to be in a beautiful setting. Parking’s never been an issue when I’ve stayed there, which is actually kind of remarkable considering how busy the marina gets during peak season. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, it delivers exactly what it promises and the location really can’t be beat. Plus, being a 3-star that punches above its weight is always better than a 5-star that disappoints, you know?
