You know what caught me off guard about Modern & Mellow? The name actually fits – and I mean that in the best way possible. I’ve stayed in plenty of places in El Gouna where the description oversells everything, but this one-bedroom at Mangroovy Residence delivered exactly what it promised. The apartment itself feels properly modern without being sterile, and there’s this relaxed vibe that starts the moment you walk in. The space is thoughtfully laid out too – whoever designed it actually understood how people live, not just how places photograph for listings.

The real win here is the beach and pool access situation. Honestly, I was skeptical about how “free” it would actually be (you know how these things go), but it’s genuinely included and the facilities are solid. The pool area gets busy around mid-morning when families start showing up, but if you’re an early riser like me, you’ll have it mostly to yourself until about 9 AM. The beach access is through the Mangroovy complex, and it’s one of those stretches where you can actually walk without dodging resort boundaries every few hundred meters. I spent a good chunk of my mornings there with coffee, watching the kitesurfers do their thing – El Gouna’s got that constant breeze that makes it perfect for wind sports, and the view never gets old.

What I really appreciated was how the apartment handled the practical stuff. The AC works properly (not always a given, even in newer places), there’s enough hot water for proper showers, and the kitchen setup is functional if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Tamr Henna Plaza instead of eating out every meal. The location puts you close enough to downtown El Gouna that you can walk to the main restaurants and bars, but far enough from the nightlife strip that you’re not dealing with noise until 3 AM. Check-in was straightforward too – none of that runaround where you’re standing in a lobby for 45 minutes while they “prepare your room.” The building itself is well-maintained, which honestly surprised me given some of the newer developments I’ve seen around Hurghada that look great in photos but fall apart up close. Sure, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble everything or a concierge, but for the price point and that 8.2 rating, it delivers on what matters. If you’re looking for a base to explore El Gouna without the resort markup, and you want actual beach access rather than just being “near the water,” this place makes sense.

  Great Pool and great facility. Apartment was very spacious, with 2 balconies and 2 bathroom. Smart TV with Netflix access, etc.
  Great kitchen (no basics provided) and comfortable bed.
  
  What could be improved: Overall everything was great! Maybe the um rellas by the pool could be renewed because they were very old and hard to open.
