You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking into what you expect to be just another apartment rental and finding yourself in something that feels way more thoughtful than that. Nayah Stays has this ancient sands theme going on, but it’s not cheesy pharaoh kitsch – more like they actually put effort into creating this warm, desert-inspired vibe that works. The pool terrace is honestly the star here, and I mean that literally because you’ll probably end up spending most of your time out there. It’s not massive, but it’s got this perfect setup where you can float around in the morning when it’s still cool, then retreat to the covered seating when the Hurghada sun gets serious around midday.

The location is pretty smart if you know El Gouna at all – you’re right at the entrance, which sounds less glamorous than being in the heart of downtown El Gouna, but actually means you dodge a lot of the tourist chaos while still being close enough to walk to the marina area in about fifteen minutes. The apartment itself has that lived-in comfort that’s way better than sterile hotel rooms. Kitchen’s actually functional (shocking, I know), and the AC works properly, which – trust me on this – matters more than any fancy marble countertops when it’s 40 degrees outside. I was surprised by how quiet it stays at night too, considering you’re still close to the main drag.

What really sells this place, though, is that it feels like someone’s home rather than a rental property. The owner clearly knows the area and has stocked it with those little things that make a difference – good coffee, proper towels, reliable WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes. The terrace setup is perfect for that evening routine where you’re too tired for the beach but not ready to be inside yet. You can see why it’s got such a high rating honestly – it’s one of those places where the photos don’t oversell it, which is rare these days. Sure, it’s only rated as a 3-star, but that 9.2 guest score tells the real story. Sometimes you find these gems that just get the basics really right instead of trying to be fancy and failing. The price point makes sense too, especially when you factor in having your own pool and that terrace space – during peak season in Hurghada, you’d pay twice as much for a hotel room with a partial sea view and share the pool with fifty other families.

  It was an experience trying to get to the location as it's in a plush mini-town which is for high-end tourists. The setting is pristine with manicured properties, lagoons and surrounds. The Ancient Sands is a high-end golfing resort hotel and in its grounds are self contained apartments which don't seem to be run by the hotel itself.
  The apartment was huge and had everything needed for self catering. The hotel itself was lively with entertainment, food and drink.
  To get around, Tuk-Tuks were always available at a set cost of 50 Egyptian Pounds which is about 80 pence UK money.
  There were shopping areas called Downtown about a 10 minute ride from the hotel and these had everything you'd expect. All very clean, upmarket and varied.
  For my needs, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and playing at the world famous El Gouna Squash centre. This had squash, padel, pickleball, tennis, running and football facilities. An amazing complex which I'v never seen the like in the UK.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment was one of many similar in the complex and there was little interaction with anyone unless you went to the hotel.
  The set-up was not my cup of tea as I like a more interactive and bustling environment.
  For such a plush place, the wi-fi was atrocious in my apartment and I had to sit in the hotel area to get a reasonable connection. Best to take your own internet.
  To be able to cook in the apartment you would need to visit a very useful supermarket in Downtown which would be about an hours experience or eat in Downtown and return anytime you needed feeding!
  The hotel itself appeared to be very pricey by normal Egyptian prices but then again it caters for golfers and the slightly more affluent tourists!!

  Gorgeous huge apartment in gorgeous authentic settings with gorgeous pool in El Gouna . It was very clean and had all necessities and toiletries . We appreciated the surprise morning breakfast . There is a washer in the apartment which is a plus . Staff was very smily nice and very helpful.

  What could be improved: The instructions for accessing it were incredibly unclear and i was directed by security to the lobby of a different complex where I waited for 20 minutes before someone gave vague directions to the unit and even then it was very hard to find it. Once i did, it was pretty simple, but there is definitely an easier way to give arrival instructions.

  Magnifique complexe hôtelier ! Le personnel est formidable. Proche de la marina d'El Gouna. Très bien pour se reposer. Piscines incroyables. Et d'une propreté parfaite. Je recommande cet hôtel surtout pour les familles et les couples qui veulent du repos. Merci

  What could be improved: Seul petit bémole, un petit peu compliqué de trouver où se trouve le logement la première fois. Le propriétaire devrait mettre une vidéo pour trouver le logement à part ce petit bemole tout est parfait.
