Honestly, when I first pulled up to New Eagles Aqua Park Resort, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – you know how some places look different in photos. But this spot, about 17 kilometers down the Hurghada-Safaga road, actually delivers on what it promises. The drive from Hurghada center takes maybe 20 minutes (depending on traffic, which can get pretty crazy during peak season), and you’ll know you’re getting close when you start seeing those classic Red Sea resort compounds dotting the coastline.

What really got me was the water situation here – I mean, it’s called Aqua Park for a reason, but the slides and pools are genuinely fun, not just kiddie stuff. The main pool area gets pretty lively during the day, especially when the German and Russian tour groups are around (which is most of the time, let’s be honest), but there are quieter spots if you know where to look. The beach access is solid too – that Red Sea water is something else, crystal clear and perfect for snorkeling if you bring your own gear. Pro tip: the coral’s better if you walk about 200 meters to the right of the main beach area, away from where most people hang out.

The rooms are… well, they’re 4-star Egyptian resort standard, which means they’re comfortable but don’t expect cutting-edge design. Air conditioning works great though, which is honestly the most important thing when it’s 40 degrees outside. What I really appreciated was how the staff genuinely seemed to care – not that over-the-top service you sometimes get that feels fake, but actual helpfulness. The guy at reception (Ahmed, I think?) knew exactly which restaurants in nearby Safaga were worth the short drive for dinner when you want to escape resort food for a night.

Food-wise, it’s buffet style mostly, and you know what? It’s actually pretty decent. The Egyptian dishes are obviously the standout – don’t miss the koshari when they have it – though the international stuff is hit or miss like everywhere else. Breakfast is solid, and they do a good job keeping things fresh even when the place is packed. Speaking of packed, if you’re planning to visit during European winter holidays, just know it gets busy. Not uncomfortably so, but you’ll want to claim your pool spot early.

The location really works in your favor here because you’re far enough from Hurghada’s main tourist chaos to feel relaxed, but close enough that a taxi ride to the old town or marina area is totally doable for about 100 Egyptian pounds. Plus, being on the Safaga road means you’re positioned perfectly for day trips – Luxor’s about 4 hours if you’re into the ancient Egypt thing, and Safaga itself has some excellent diving spots that are way less crowded than Hurghada’s usual suspects.

Look, with an 8.7 rating, this place is doing something right, and after spending time there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest resort on the Red Sea, but it nails that sweet spot of being fun, comfortable, and actually relaxing. If you want a proper Egyptian resort experience without the massive crowds or the massive price tag, New Eagles hits the mark.

  We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The facilities were clean and comfortable, but what truly made the experience exceptional was the staff.
