So I stumbled across this little gem in El Gouna completely by accident – you know how sometimes the best finds happen when you’re not really looking? The Azure Lagoon apartment is tucked right near the El Gouna Club entrance, which honestly makes it feel more exclusive than it probably is, but I’m not complaining. First thing that hits you is how quiet it gets once you’re inside, even though you’re literally steps from where all the action happens. The 1BR setup is actually pretty clever – whoever designed this place understood that you want space to spread out after a day of diving or lounging by the water.

What really got me was the view situation. I mean, Swan Lake sounds almost too picturesque to be real, but wake up early enough and you’ll catch these incredible light shifts across the water that make you understand why people fall hard for this part of the Red Sea coast. The lagoon views change throughout the day – sort of moody in the morning, then this brilliant turquoise by afternoon that photographs don’t quite capture. You’re close enough to walk to the marina area without needing a taxi (which, trust me, saves you both money and the whole negotiation dance), but far enough that you won’t hear the restaurant crowds getting rowdy later at night. The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that newer places sometimes miss – everything works like it should, the AC actually cools the space down properly, and there’s enough counter space in the kitchen that you can prep breakfast without feeling cramped.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – El Gouna can feel a bit artificial sometimes, like a resort town that’s trying too hard, but staying in this spot gives you more of a local rhythm. You’ll notice the Egyptian staff at nearby cafes start recognizing you after a couple days, and honestly, that made the whole experience feel less touristy. The rating makes sense too – 9.2 feels about right for a place that delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Sure, it’s not luxury tier with marble everything and a concierge, but you’re getting solid value and a location that puts you right in the sweet spot of El Gouna’s layout. If you’re planning to spend your days out exploring the reefs or wandering around town anyway, this works perfectly as your home base. Just pack some decent coffee – the local options are hit or miss, and having your morning routine sorted makes everything else flow better.
