You know what struck me first about this place? The name is absolutely ridiculous – One Bedroom Apartment With Pool View C213-Al Saraya Sahl Hasheesh by Peaks – I mean, someone clearly wasn’t thinking about business cards when they came up with that. But honestly, once you get past the mouthful of a name, this little spot in Sahl Hasheesh is actually pretty solid for what it is.

I’ve stayed in plenty of 3-star places along the Red Sea coast, and this one punches above its weight. The apartment itself is clean and functional – nothing fancy, but the AC works properly (which, trust me, matters a lot more than marble countertops when it’s 40 degrees outside). The pool view they promise? It’s legit. You can actually see the water from the balcony, and in the mornings before the families descend with their inflatable unicorns, it’s genuinely peaceful. The building is part of the Al Saraya complex, which sounds fancy but is really just a well-maintained development that doesn’t feel too touristy. You’ll hear some German and Russian chatter around the pool area – Sahl Hasheesh draws that crowd – but it’s not overwhelming.

What I really appreciated was the location within Hurghada. Sahl Hasheesh is about 20 minutes south of the main tourist strip, so you’re close enough to hit the restaurants and dive shops in town, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the chaos of Sheraton Road traffic at all hours. The beach access is decent – it’s a short walk to some pretty nice stretches of sand, and the snorkeling right offshore is surprisingly good. I saw more fish in 30 minutes there than I did on some of the organized boat trips. The complex has its own little shuttle that runs to the main resort areas, though honestly, a taxi is cheap enough and way more convenient. Check-in was smooth (they actually had someone who spoke decent English, which isn’t always a given), and the Wi-Fi worked well enough for video calls back home. The kitchen setup is basic but functional – perfect for making coffee in the morning or storing some drinks and snacks. One small thing that bugged me: the water pressure in the shower isn’t great, but it’s adequate, and the hot water is reliable. For a 3-star place with a 9 rating, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for – clean, comfortable, well-located, and honest about what it offers. If you’re looking for a base to explore the Red Sea without paying resort prices, this weird-named little apartment is actually a smart choice.
