Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Azura Resort in Sahl Hasheesh, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But this little one-bedroom chalet (unit 6E 105, if you’re keeping track) actually surprised me in the best way possible. The sea view terrace is where you’ll spend most of your time, trust me on this one. I mean, you’re literally looking out at the Red Sea, and depending on when you’re there, you’ll catch these incredible sunrises that make getting up early worth it for once.

The chalet itself is pretty straightforward – nothing fancy, but it’s got everything you actually need without all the unnecessary frills that jack up the price. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Sahl Hasheesh isn’t like downtown Hurghada where you’ve got traffic and noise until all hours – it’s this planned resort community about 20 minutes south of the main city, so you actually get some peace. The bedroom’s decent sized, and honestly, the air conditioning works better than some 5-star places I’ve stayed at (looking at you, overpriced resort in Sharm). You know what’s nice? The terrace is big enough to actually use – not one of those tiny balconies where you can barely fit a chair. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the boats head out for diving trips.

Here’s the thing about staying at Azura – you’re not getting resort amenities, but you’re also not paying resort prices, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The check-in was smooth, parking’s not an issue, and you’re close enough to the Sahl Hasheesh marina that you can walk over for dinner if you don’t feel like cooking. There’s a decent supermarket about 10 minutes away if you need supplies, and the staff actually knows the area well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the touristy stuff. I’d say this works perfectly if you’re planning to be out exploring during the day – maybe diving, or taking day trips to Luxor – and you just want a comfortable, clean place to crash that doesn’t break the bank. The 8 out of 10 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises.
