Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Orchidia on Bahr Street, right next to Al Salam Hospital, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages, and this little gem absolutely proved that point.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you think about it. Yeah, being next to a hospital might sound weird, but it means you’re right in a proper neighborhood where real Hurghada life happens, not just tourist bubble stuff. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk to the corniche where all the seafront action is, but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and chaos. I mean, you can still hear the occasional call to prayer echoing across the area, which honestly adds to the whole experience if you ask me. The building itself sits on this quiet stretch where you’ll see locals going about their daily business – there’s something refreshing about that authenticity you don’t get in the resort zones.

What really got me was how the staff just… cared, you know? Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling tactics, and they actually seemed to remember guests’ names after a day or two. The rooms are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed. The AC keeps things comfortable even during those brutal afternoon hours when Hurghada turns into an oven, and the beds are surprisingly decent. I was expecting that rock-hard mattress situation you sometimes get, but actually slept well. The bathrooms are small but well-maintained, though the water pressure can be a bit temperamental in the early evening when everyone’s showering – just plan accordingly.

Here’s the thing that surprised me most: the 9.3 rating isn’t just inflated review nonsense. People genuinely seem to love this place, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – no fake luxury pretensions or over-the-top amenities that don’t work half the time. Instead, it’s just solid, reliable hospitality with people who understand that travelers want a clean, comfortable base to explore from. The neighborhood gives you easy access to local restaurants where you can get actual Egyptian food (not just tourist-friendly versions), and there’s a small market about five minutes away where you can grab essentials without paying resort prices. Parking isn’t really an issue if you’re driving, though honestly, walking or grabbing local transport works better for getting around central Hurghada anyway. If you’re looking for Instagram-perfect luxury, this isn’t your spot – but if you want a genuine, well-run place where you’ll actually feel welcomed rather than just processed, Orchidia delivers in ways that matter.

  Уютная квартира, новый ремонт. Есть стиральная машина, электрическая плита, микроволновка, холодильник, кондиционер, электрический чайник. Частный пляж, лежаки бесплатно. 3 бассейна разной глубины. Пока не все квартиры в этом комплексе проданы ( сентябрь 2023) – на пляже практически никого! Тихо. В 20 минутах ходьбы – мечеть эль-Мина и рыбный рынок. В 30 минутах ходьбы – гипермаркет Метро. Рядом много маленьких магазинчиков, где можно найти всё необходимое .
