Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Palm Beach Apartments 302B, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But honestly? This little gem in Sahl Hasheesh completely changed my mind about what you can get without breaking the bank in Hurghada.

The thing about Sahl Hasheesh is that it’s actually about 20 minutes south of the main Hurghada chaos, which – trust me – is exactly what you want. You get this more laid-back vibe without the constant hassle of vendors and traffic noise that hits you in the main tourist strip. The apartment itself sits in this quiet residential area where you’ll hear more birds than car horns, especially in the mornings. I mean, you’re still close enough to hop over to the main hotel strips for dinner or nightlife, but you can actually sleep at night, you know? The Red Sea breeze hits differently here too – less dusty, more of that clean salt air that makes you want to keep the windows open.

What really got me about 302B specifically was how much thought went into the little details. The kitchen actually has proper cookware (not those flimsy tourist apartment pans), and there’s this surprisingly good water pressure in the shower – honestly, better than some 5-star places I’ve stayed. The balcony faces east, so you get these incredible sunrise views over the water without the harsh afternoon sun beating down on you later. The owner, Ahmed, lives locally and actually answers his phone – which is rare in my experience with vacation rentals. He helped us figure out the best spots for snorkeling gear and even recommended this little seafood place that locals go to, not the overpriced tourist traps.

The beach access is what sealed the deal for me though. You’re literally a 3-minute walk to this pristine stretch of sand that’s way less crowded than the main Hurghada beaches. The coral reef starts pretty close to shore here – I’m talking maybe 50 meters out – so you don’t need to book expensive boat trips to see decent marine life. Just grab a mask and fins from one of the shops nearby. The water stays calm most of the year too, protected by the reef structure. I’ve been to Hurghada probably six times now, and this spot has some of the clearest water I’ve seen along this coast. Sure, the apartment building itself isn’t fancy – it’s got that typical Egyptian coastal architecture, sort of practical and sun-bleached – but everything works, it’s clean, and the location just makes sense. Plus, parking is actually free and easy, which anyone who’s driven around Hurghada will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

  Very convenient location, right next to Arrival Piazza and right on the promenade, close to everything (supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, beach).
  The apartment is large enough for 2 adults and 2 kids, 2 queen beds in the bedroom. The kitchen has all necessary equipment for short stay. Everything was clean. Wifi at good speed – enough to stream video.
  Very nice Piazza restaurant in the building.
  Most important – the host was very helpful and responded quickly on all our requests.
  
  What could be improved: Internet is limited (it needs to be point out for people to be prepared if they want to use it for streaming). Lack of towels for 3 people.
