Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first pulled up to Palm Inn Hotel in El Dahar, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best travel surprises come from exactly these kinds of spots. The hotel sits right on Abdel-Moneim Riad Square, which actually puts you in the heart of old Hurghada rather than the glossy resort strip. And honestly, that’s where you want to be if you’re looking for something real.
The thing about this place is that it gets the basics really right. The rooms are clean – I mean properly clean, not just “eh, good enough” clean – and the AC actually works, which in Hurghada’s heat is basically non-negotiable. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re literally in the middle of everything. The square can get pretty lively during the day with locals going about their business, traditional coffee shops buzzing, and the occasional call to prayer echoing from nearby mosques, but somehow the hotel manages to buffer most of that noise once you’re inside. The staff – well, they’re genuinely helpful without being pushy, which is refreshing. They’ll actually give you proper directions to the marina or recommend where locals eat (hint: try the kushari place two blocks down) instead of just steering you toward tourist traps.
Here’s what sold me on recommending this place: the location is absolutely perfect for exploring authentic Hurghada. You’re walking distance from the old souq where you can haggle for spices and textiles without fighting through cruise ship crowds, and it’s maybe a 10-minute taxi ride to the corniche and Red Sea. The hotel itself has this laid-back vibe – there’s a small rooftop area where you can actually see the sea if you crane your neck a bit, and the breakfast (nothing fancy, but fresh bread and strong Egyptian coffee) gets you fueled up for diving trips or desert excursions. Parking’s not really an issue since most people walk or taxi around this area anyway. I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and while I can imagine it gets busier in winter when Europeans escape the cold, it never felt cramped or overwhelmed. The front desk guys speak decent English and – this matters – they understand that sometimes you just want to crash after a long day of diving without a whole song and dance about tourist activities. It’s not luxury, obviously, but it’s solid, well-run, and puts you right where the real Hurghada happens.

This was an excellent Hotel. The room was modern and had everything you needed. All the Staff were always helpful, respectful and pleasant. Special thanks to Gaballa, who was so efficient and sorted out anything that needed to be done straightaway, which was much appreciated. Thankyou Sincerely Gaballa.
The Food was delicious. There was a wide choice of hot and cold dishes, cereals etc and different choices each day.. I am glad I booked this Hotel. I would highly recommend it and it was worth coming to Hurghada, just to stay at this Hotel.Karen from Egypt – 17 May 2025 (9/10)
Travelled and stayed again due to a trip to the Visa office. Hotel excellent again and Mahmoud, housekeeping works so hard. Cleanliness was superb. Also staff at pool bar deliver a high standard. First time I have eaten food there and the service and quality was fantastic for the price. Thank you all.
