Look, I’ll be straight with you about Palma Resort Hurghada – it’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. When you’re driving down that long stretch of the Ras Ghareb-Hurghada Road (and I mean long – you’ll think you missed it), the resort sort of emerges from the desert landscape in this understated way that immediately tells you this isn’t going to be some flashy, over-the-top experience.

What struck me first was how the staff actually seemed to know what they were doing. Check-in was smooth, no shuffling papers or confused looks, and the guy at reception gave me genuine tips about avoiding the midday sun at the pool – you know, the kind of advice that comes from actually living somewhere, not reading it off a script. The rooms are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place. Clean sheets, decent air conditioning (crucial in Hurghada, trust me), and that particular smell of hotel soap that’s somehow comforting. The bathroom had good water pressure, which honestly matters more than fancy marble when you’re washing off Red Sea salt at the end of the day.

Here’s the thing about this place – it gets families and couples right because it doesn’t try to cram everyone into the same box. There are quieter corners where couples can actually have a conversation, but also spaces where kids can be kids without everyone shooting dirty looks. The pool area gets busy around 10 AM when families stake out their spots, but if you’re more of an early bird or late afternoon swimmer, you’ll have plenty of space. I spent most evenings on their terrace area, and you can actually see stars out there – something you forget is possible when you’re used to city lights. The food was better than I expected, honestly. Not gourmet, but they do a solid job with both local dishes and the international stuff tourists expect. Their breakfast spread had actual Egyptian cheese and bread alongside the usual hotel fare, which made me think someone in the kitchen actually cares.

The location works if you’re planning to explore beyond the resort – you’re close enough to Hurghada proper for diving trips or shopping runs, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise. Just know that you’ll want to arrange transport ahead of time; it’s not really a walk-anywhere kind of spot. What I appreciated most was the lack of pressure – no one’s constantly trying to upsell you on excursions or spa treatments. Sometimes you just want to sit by a pool, read a book, and not have to make decisions about every single thing, you know?

  Not much to say. The host was helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Dirty place with terrible furniture. Showers leaking. Mold in the showers and bathrooms. Kitchen equipment second to none. For the price absolutely terrible. Looks ok on photos but when you look closely its not good. Definitely no go.
