Look, I’ll be honest – the name “Panoramic & Cushy 3BDR Mangroovy” sounds like someone had fun with Google Translate, but don’t let that throw you off. This place in El Gouna is actually a solid find, especially if you’re traveling with family or friends and want more space than your typical hotel room offers.

El Gouna itself is this sort of artificial paradise about 25 kilometers north of Hurghada – think of it as Egypt’s answer to a planned resort town, but one that actually works. The Mangroovy Residence sits in one of the quieter lagoon areas, which honestly is perfect because you get the benefits of being in El Gouna without the constant buzz from the main marina district. I mean, you can still easily walk or grab a quick tuktuk ride to downtown El Gouna when you want the restaurants and nightlife, but you’re not dealing with the noise at night. The apartment itself really does live up to that “panoramic” promise – you’ve got these floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the lagoon, and if you’re lucky enough to snag one of the higher floors, you can see all the way to the Red Sea mountains in the distance.

What surprised me most was how well-equipped everything is. The kitchen actually has proper appliances (not those sad mini-fridges you usually get), and there’s enough seating for everyone to hang out comfortably. The pool area is shared with other residents, but it never felt crowded when I was there – probably because most people are off diving or kitesurfing during the day anyway. Beach access is the real winner here though. You’re basically a five-minute walk from some of the nicest sandy beaches in El Gouna, and the water is that ridiculous turquoise color that makes every photo look like you cranked up the saturation. The whole lagoon system means the water stays pretty calm too, which is great if you’ve got kids or just want to float around without getting knocked over by waves. One thing to know – El Gouna can get pretty windy, especially in the winter months, but that’s actually why it’s such a hotspot for kitesurfing and windsurfing. You’ll want to bring some layers for the evenings because desert temperatures drop more than you’d expect. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury resort level, but for a three-bedroom apartment with pool and beach access at this price point, you’re getting genuine value. Plus, being in El Gouna means you’re in this weird bubble where everything is walkable and safe, but you can still hop over to Hurghada proper if you want the more authentic Egyptian experience.
