You know what? The Penthouse in Hurghada really surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you first pull up on Sahl Hashish Road, honestly, you might wonder if you’re in the right place. It’s tucked away from the main tourist strip, which actually ends up being one of its biggest selling points once you settle in. The whole Sahl Hashish area has this quieter vibe compared to the chaos you’ll find closer to Hurghada’s center, and the Penthouse sort of captures that perfectly.

The thing about this place is that it punches way above its 3-star rating – I mean, an 8.2 guest score doesn’t happen by accident. The staff here actually remember your name after the first day (which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re dealing with that post-flight exhaustion). The rooms are clean and well-maintained, though don’t expect luxury finishes or anything fancy. What you get instead is this comfortable, no-nonsense setup that just works. The air conditioning runs quietly – crucial in Hurghada’s heat – and the beds are surprisingly decent. I’ve stayed in supposed 4-star places along the Red Sea coast with mattresses that felt like cardboard, so this was a pleasant shock.

Here’s what I really appreciated: the location gives you options without trapping you. You’re close enough to the Red Sea that the morning breeze actually reaches you (the salt smell is subtle but there), yet far enough from the beach club crowds that you can sleep past 7 AM if you want to. Getting to the main Hurghada attractions takes maybe 15-20 minutes by taxi, and the drivers all know the area well – just say “Penthouse, Sahl Hashish” and you’re set. The neighborhood has a few local spots for grabbing supplies or a quick meal, nothing fancy but authentic enough that you’ll see Egyptian families there, not just tourists. Parking was never an issue when friends picked me up, which honestly can be a nightmare at some of the beachfront hotels. The whole experience felt refreshingly straightforward – good value, solid service, and positioned well enough that you can explore Hurghada properly without paying resort prices for the privilege.

  After a short bout of illness, I really needed some relax and recover time , immediately I felt at home there it was quiet and clean , I really liked Veranda and the host Alena was in contact when I needed her .
  The pools and gardens were pristine.
  On the whole a peaceful and perfect stay .
  I’ve booked a further 2 times .

  The place Veranda where the appartment is located is a nice resort like place with swimming pools and bar/restaurant. It is really quiet place. The staff is nice and helpful.the apartment is big and the rooftop taerrace is really nice.
  
  What could be improved: The beach from the resort are just some old chairs and torn umbrellas. So you need to go to the beach in town (the photos on booking are also from that beach not the one included) and that is cca 30 min walk or you can use the golfcart from the resort.
  The appartment is badly in need of some maintenance.The kitchen counter is broke, stovetop needs fixing,the door on balcony really hard to open, there is no Netflix as mentioned,tiles on the floor are coming off…
  Overall we had a nice stay
