First Impressions

Walking into Penthouse, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical Red Sea resort. The property sits along Sahl Hashish Road in Hurghada, and honestly, the name pretty much tells you what you’re getting — it feels more like staying at someone’s well-appointed apartment than a traditional hotel. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup, which I actually found quite charming after dealing with some of the more overwhelming resort complexes in the area.

Location & Getting Around

Sahl Hashish is one of those spots that locals know but isn’t completely overrun with tour groups yet. You’re about 20 minutes south of Hurghada’s main tourist strip, which means you get the best of both worlds — easy access to the action when you want it, but actual peace and quiet when you don’t. The free private parking is honestly a godsend if you’re planning to rent a car and explore the coastline. I mean, finding decent parking in Hurghada can be a real headache, so having your own guaranteed spot makes a huge difference.

The Space Itself

The rooms at Penthouse have this residential feel that really sets them apart from standard hotel accommodations. You’ll find yourself with proper living spaces rather than just a bed and a tiny desk. The setup works particularly well for couples — and I can see why the rating reflects that, because there’s something intimate about the whole arrangement. The decor isn’t trying too hard to be Egyptian-themed (thank goodness), and instead goes for a clean, modern approach that actually lets you focus on the stunning Red Sea views outside your windows.

The Red Sea Experience

What really makes this place special is how it connects you to the Red Sea without all the resort circus atmosphere. Sahl Hashish has some genuinely beautiful stretches of coastline, and you’re positioned to take advantage of the better snorkeling spots without fighting crowds. The water here is that incredible turquoise that Egypt’s coast is famous for, and you know what — sometimes you just want to enjoy it without someone trying to sell you a banana boat ride every five minutes. The beach access feels more natural and less commercialized than what you’ll find closer to central Hurghada.

Why Guests Love It

There’s a reason couples keep rating this place so highly — it strikes that perfect balance between comfort and authenticity that’s surprisingly hard to find along the Egyptian coast. You’re not paying for amenities you don’t need, but you’re getting the space and privacy that actually matter. The whole experience feels more like borrowing a friend’s place in Egypt rather than checking into a tourist factory. Plus, having reliable parking and a good base for exploring the region means you can actually venture out and discover some of the less touristy gems around Hurghada without the usual logistical headaches.

Exploring Hurghada blends coral gardens, Bedouin desert banquets, and palm-lined promenades glowing with Red Sea sunsets.

  The view and the terrace upstairs were beautiful
  
  What could be improved: It could be better clean, I found hair and some spots on the bed sheets which weren’t new

  The place Veranda where the appartment is located is a nice resort like place with swimming pools and bar/restaurant. It is really quiet place. The staff is nice and helpful.the apartment is big and the rooftop taerrace is really nice.
  
  What could be improved: The beach from the resort are just some old chairs and torn umbrellas. So you need to go to the beach in town (the photos on booking are also from that beach not the one included) and that is cca 30 min walk or you can use the golfcart from the resort.
  The appartment is badly in need of some maintenance.The kitchen counter is broke, stovetop needs fixing,the door on balcony really hard to open, there is no Netflix as mentioned,tiles on the floor are coming off…

  After a short bout of illness, I really needed some relax and recover time , immediately I felt at home there it was quiet and clean , I really liked Veranda and the host Alena was in contact when I needed her .
  The pools and gardens were pristine.
  On the whole a peaceful and perfect stay .
  I’ve booked a further 2 times .
