You know what struck me first about Pickalbatros Aqua Blu? It’s how they’ve managed to feel both massive and intimate at the same time. I mean, this place sprawls along the Safaga Road – that’s the main coastal strip heading south from Hurghada center – but somehow you’re not constantly bumping into crowds of strangers. The lobby honestly surprised me with these soaring ceilings and this kind of modern Egyptian aesthetic that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. Check-in was smooth (always a relief after those long flights), and the staff actually remembered my name by day two, which… well, that doesn’t happen everywhere.

The pools are where this place really shines – there’s this main lagoon-style one that sort of winds around the property, and honestly, my kids spent more time there than at the actual Red Sea beach. Speaking of which, the beach situation is pretty solid. It’s not the pristine white sand you’ll find further south, but the coral reef access is incredible. You can literally snorkel right off the shore and see parrotfish and angelfish without booking some expensive boat trip. The resort provides decent snorkeling gear too, though I’d still recommend bringing your own mask if you’re picky about fit. What I really appreciated was how they’ve got this whole area sectioned off from the main Safaga Road traffic – you get that resort bubble feeling without being completely cut off from local life. There’s actually a small market about a ten-minute walk down the road where you can grab authentic Egyptian snacks and chat with locals, which beats the overpriced resort shops.

The dining situation exceeded my expectations for a four-star property. The main buffet restaurant has this surprisingly good selection of both international and Egyptian dishes – their koshari is actually legit, and I say that as someone who’s tried it all over Cairo. Room-wise, we had one of the sea-view suites and while the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, everything worked properly (air conditioning was a blessing during those humid August evenings) and the balcony view of the Red Sea at sunset is honestly magical. One small thing – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, so if you’re planning to work remotely, maybe mention that during booking. The resort gets busy during European winter months when everyone’s escaping the cold, but even then it never felt overcrowded. That 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience how smoothly everything runs – from housekeeping to the dive center coordination. It’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but it’s that comfortable, well-run kind of place where you actually relax instead of constantly managing little annoyances.

  aqua blu residents was separated from the beach el batros ones, the bar was too poor and the snakes restaurant was too far from the beach.

  Everything was perfect , breakfast and dinner were perfect , the dinner was good but the dinner was better .

  What amazing stay, we were couple, me and my wife, had very good 5 days 4 nights.
  The resort consists of 3 hotels
  You book one room in on of them and have access to all of the others facilities, access to literally everything in all the 3 hotels.
  Staff are welcoming, helpful, respectful, and polite ( most of them)
  The reception are so professional and helpful, I would like to thank especially Mr. Mohamed Karawia who has been so decent, helpful, and amazing service.
  The resort (3hotels) have one Aquapark for adults located in Aqua park Hotel
  One Aqua for Kids in the middle between Aqua park & Aqua Blue.
  The 3 hotels is super close and connected of each other, just few walking steps between you and everything.
  If you are in Aqua Vista hotel (1st hotel) and want to go to the Aqua park located in Aqua Park hotel, it’s only literally less than 2 minutes walk.
  The resort has many pools, maybe over 15 pool in the whole resort.
  It contains 4 restaurants with one of the in the open air near one pool.
  Also, contains late breakfast, and late lunch if you miss the main eating times.
  They provide a minibus to go for and from beach which is on the other side of the road, so it’s only 5 minutes drive.
  The beach is sand and clean with 2 safety guards, one spot for snorkeling, it has everything you need, just perfect.
  
  What could be improved: While the resort has full v good service in everything, plenty of food, Wednesday main dish is Fish for your notice, despite all of this, the food is not so delicious or not so tasty, also, you have to go in the early times of lunch and dinner to find all kinds of dishes and they do refill, until the closing time of food, where you may not find all kinds of food.
