Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of Red Sea resorts, and honestly? The Pickalbatros Aqua Vista surprised me in all the right ways. First thing you notice pulling up on Safaga Road – and this is key because a lot of people don’t realize this – you’re actually south of the main Hurghada chaos. I mean, close enough to hit the souks and Marina Boulevard when you want some action, but far enough that you’re not dealing with tour buses rumbling past your balcony at 6 AM. The whole place has this sprawling, laid-back vibe that immediately made me slow down and actually start relaxing instead of just thinking about it.

What really got me was the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a four-star property. The pools – there are several, and they actually maintain them properly, which isn’t always a given out here – have these little nooks where you can escape the midday sun without fighting for a lounger. The main restaurant does this thing where they rotate regional Egyptian dishes alongside the usual international spread, and you know what? I found myself trying stuff I’d never heard of instead of just grabbing the same old pasta. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, housekeeping was consistent, and the front desk folks actually had useful suggestions about local dive sites instead of just pushing expensive hotel excursions.

Here’s the thing though – and this is where that 9.2 rating makes sense – it’s the little touches that add up. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the property (trust me, test this everywhere in Egypt). The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, which matters when you’re trying to sleep off some sun. And the beach access? It’s not the most pristine stretch of Red Sea coastline, but it’s got decent snorkeling right off the shore, and honestly, most people are going to book dive trips to the better sites anyway. The water can get a bit choppy in the afternoon, but mornings are usually perfect for swimming. I’d probably avoid the peak European holiday weeks if you want a quieter experience – gets pretty lively around the pool area – but during shoulder season, it hits this sweet spot of having enough energy to feel social without being overwhelming. It’s one of those places where you could easily spend a week without feeling like you’re missing out on the “real” Egypt, but also without feeling trapped at a resort.

The restaurant of Aqua Blue was amazing, thanks to Mr. Khalil , Mr. Mohamed Gamal and Mr. Ali, for their delicious food they are serving , and they were so generous and kindness .
