Hotel Description

So I ended up at Princess Resort in Hurghada last spring, and honestly? It’s one of those places that grows on you. First impression walking in – the lobby’s got that slightly dated Egyptian resort vibe (think early 2000s marble everywhere), but the staff actually seemed genuinely happy to see guests, which you don’t always get at three-star places along the Red Sea coast.

The thing about this hotel is its location – you’re right in the heart of Hurghada, maybe a ten-minute walk from El Dahar’s old souks where the real action happens. I mean, most tourists stick to Sakala, but being close to the traditional market area gives you this authentic slice of Egyptian life that the bigger resorts miss entirely. You can hear the call to prayer from nearby mosques (beautiful, actually, though light sleepers might want earplugs), and there’s this amazing little ahwa – traditional coffee house – just around the corner where locals hang out playing backgammon until late.

What surprised me was how well-maintained everything feels despite the 7.1 rating. Sure, the rooms aren’t Instagram-perfect, and the AC units make this subtle humming sound, but the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spotless. The pool area gets packed around noon when day-trip buses arrive, but early morning or late afternoon? You’ll have it mostly to yourself. The restaurant serves pretty standard international fare – nothing that’ll blow your mind, but the Egyptian breakfast spread is actually solid, and they make a decent ful medames if you ask nicely.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me: the hotel runs a shuttle to the marina district twice daily, which saves you about 15 Egyptian pounds on a taxi ride. Also, the dive shop next door (Omar’s, I think?) gives Princess guests a small discount on Red Sea excursions – totally worth asking about since Hurghada’s coral reefs are honestly the main reason to be here anyway. The hotel itself feels more like a comfortable base camp than a destination, which worked perfectly for me since I spent most days out exploring or underwater. Just don’t expect luxury – think clean, friendly, and well-positioned rather than fancy.

  – Private beach: clean (if wind doesn't blow trash from the sea to the shore), comfy furniture and helpful staff, not too many people
  
  What could be improved: – we struggled 4 days to enter the included private beach, because the owner didn't deliver us the membership cards even we called him many times. He makes promises but doesn't find a solution in time
  – 1st day swimming pool was not available because of cleaning
  – shower installation was not stable, fell down many times
  – basic stuff missing: a rug (bathroom & entrance), broom for cleaning, trash bags, equipment to clean the dishes, some dishes were not cleaned before

  1. Pool huge and clean, sunbeds nice with comfi matresse
  2, beach huge, clean, sunbeds with mattress and huge beds & swing bed, clear sea and easy entrance, clean toilets, small restaurant with drinks & food delivery, life guard
  3. direct on memsha promenade, carrefour supermarkt not 5min distance, good for walking, shopping & sitting in cafes

  5. Flat not big but furniture, equipment and electric items good, sleeping sofa was ok, bed just 120cm, TV with English & other channels, very small balcony
  
  What could be improved: 1. Very very dirty flat (especially Toilette and floor in all rooms) upon arrival. Housekeeping came after complaining but after 2h so I decide to clean by myself to not waste more time and to be sure it's proper clean. Such dirty flat absolutely no go and took me one day of my holiday.
  2. AC in living room not worked (but we don't want complain again and loose time for waiting engeneering to fix it.
  And 10 days from 14 our elevator was not working. Very hard bec 6. Floor we stayed (there was other elevator in the other side of the compound in u-shape but than long walk way in the corridor)
  3. We booked for 3people but beach entrance was just free for 2 of us. 3rd person had to pay. No information here and not in chat before or during check in. We discovered when we wanted to go to beach and the security don't want let us 3 in. Very bad situation with long discussion . And owner didn't cared.

  Ort Umgebung Anlage und Strand waren sehr schön
  
  What could be improved: Hatte ein anderes Apartment bekommen als ich gebucht hatte, das war nicht so schlimm aber der Balkon war so klein das man nicht mit 2 Personen sitzen konnte

  Ausstattung völlig ausreichend. Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer des Appartements wunderbar, konnte bei Problemen helfen. Zugang zum Strand war vorhanden. Kurze Fahrtzeit zum Flughafen. Komme gerne wieder.
