You know what caught me off guard about Princess Resort 117 B? That 9.4 rating actually makes sense once you spend a few days there. I mean, when you first pull up to this three-star place in Hurghada, you’re not expecting much – it’s honestly pretty modest from the outside. But there’s something about how they run this place that just works.

The location is actually pretty smart if you know Hurghada at all. You’re far enough from the crazy tourist strip that you can actually sleep at night (trust me, that matters more than you think), but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you to all the diving shops and restaurants along the corniche. The staff at check-in seemed genuinely happy to see us, which – look, I’ve stayed at plenty of Egyptian hotels where that’s definitely not the case. They walked us through everything without that rushed feeling you get at bigger resorts, and honestly, the room was cleaner than I expected. Nothing fancy, but the AC worked great (crucial in Hurghada heat), and the bathroom was properly renovated, not just touched up with cheap paint like some places do.

What really won me over was the little stuff though. The breakfast guy – I think his name was Ahmed – actually remembered how I liked my eggs after the second day. The pool area stays pretty quiet during the day because most guests are out diving or doing excursions, so if you want to just chill and read, it’s perfect. And here’s the thing about the diving situation – they’ve got connections with some of the smaller, local dive shops rather than just the big commercial ones. I ended up on this amazing reef trip that cost half what the resort next door was charging their guests. The evening routine there is pretty low-key too, which I actually loved. No loud entertainment or pushy animation team, just people hanging out by the pool or walking down to grab dinner in town. Sometimes you want that instead of constant noise, you know? The Wi-Fi is decent enough for video calls home, and they’ve got this little market across the street where you can grab snacks and water bottles without paying resort prices. I mean, it’s not luxury by any stretch, but for what you pay, Princess Resort 117 B delivers way more than it promises. Perfect if you want a clean, friendly base for exploring Hurghada without breaking the bank.

  The apartment is beautifully furnished, comfortable bed. The kitchenette has everything you need for a quick meal. The balcony is spacious. The beach is beautiful with lots of sun loungers and a small restaurant with very reasonable menu and drinks. There are a lot of shops and cafes nearby and Hurghada centre is a short trip in a taxi. Had a lovely stay and will definitely return.
