Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this little place in Makadi? It’s actually tucked away from all the resort madness – and I mean that in the best possible way. When you’re walking through Makadi Bay, you’re used to seeing these massive hotel complexes everywhere, but this private flat sits quietly in a residential pocket where you can actually hear yourself think. The garden was honestly a surprise too; not huge or anything, but there’s something really nice about having your own outdoor space where you can sit with morning coffee without bumping into other tourists every five seconds.
The flat itself feels properly lived-in rather than sterile hotel-room clean, if that makes sense. One bedroom that’s actually spacious enough to unpack your stuff (shocking concept, right?), and the whole place has this comfortable, almost homey vibe that makes you forget you’re technically staying in accommodation. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Makadi Bay can get pretty lively with all the resort entertainment, but this spot is just far enough removed that you’re not dealing with poolside music until midnight. The Red Sea is still super close though; I could walk to the water in maybe ten minutes, fifteen if I was being lazy about it.
Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place – the location gives you options. You’re close enough to hop over to the main Makadi resort strip when you want that scene (decent restaurants, some nightlife, the usual tourist stuff), but you can also easily get into Hurghada proper if you want to see how locals actually live. I ended up taking a taxi into the city center a couple times, and it’s honestly refreshing after being surrounded by resort bubble life. The flat owner seemed to know the area really well too – gave me some solid recommendations for places to eat that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps. Parking was never an issue, which might sound boring but trust me, it matters when you’re trying to explore the Red Sea coast and don’t want to stress about where to leave your rental car. The whole experience just felt more authentic than staying in another cookie-cutter hotel room, you know?
