You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you step onto that balcony and see the lagoon stretching out in front of you, it actually feels like you’re living in El Gouna rather than just visiting. I mean, most vacation rentals give you a slice of the experience, but this three-bedroom spot at Fanadir Marina – it’s honestly more like borrowing someone’s really nice life for a week.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re right at the El Gouna entrance, which sounds like it might be noisy or touristy, but it’s not – you get easy access to everything without being stuck in the middle of the bustle. The marina views are legit gorgeous, especially in the morning when the light hits the water just right and you can watch the boats heading out for diving trips. I spent way too much time on that terrace with my coffee, watching people get ready for their Red Sea adventures. The three bedrooms are spacious enough that nobody felt cramped (we had six people), and honestly, the air conditioning works better than half the fancy resorts I’ve stayed at in Egypt. Small thing, but when it’s 40 degrees outside, you appreciate reliable AC.

What really sold me on this place – and why I’d go back – is how it sits in the whole El Gouna ecosystem. You’re walking distance to Abu Tig Marina when you want the fancy dinner scene, but you can also grab a taxi boat across the lagoons, which never gets old. The house itself has this lived-in comfort that vacation rentals often miss; the kitchen actually has proper utensils (not just the bare minimum), and there’s enough seating that you can spread out. Plus, parking is right there, which matters if you’re planning day trips to Hurghada or want to explore the desert areas. I’ll be honest, the place isn’t brand new or Instagram-perfect, but it’s got character and everything works. The WiFi was solid enough for video calls, the water pressure was decent, and – this might sound weird – but the neighborhood actually feels like a neighborhood, not a tourist bubble. You’ll hear the call to prayer in the distance, kids playing by the water, the gentle sound of boat engines. It’s peaceful in a way that feels authentically Egyptian rather than resort-sanitized.

  Smooth check-in process, great location, amazing view of the Fanadir Marina from across the unit. Well maintained and equipped unit, couldn’t ask for more. Zein was a great host that provided us with a detailed list of things to do, restaurants, night life options, and more. Will definitely come back!
