Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “rooftop apartment” in the name, I was expecting some cramped attic situation. But this place on Sahl Hashish Road actually delivers on that panorama view promise, and then some. You’re basically perched up there with the Red Sea stretching out like it’s showing off just for you, and honestly? The sunsets from that terrace will mess with your dinner plans because you won’t want to look away.

The thing about this part of Hurghada is that Sahl Hashish Road puts you in this sweet spot where you’re not drowning in the resort chaos of the main strip, but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere either. I mean, it’s about a 15-minute ride to the marina area if you want the full tourist experience, but you’ve got enough local spots within walking distance to grab decent coffee or hit up a corner shop without feeling like you’re paying resort prices for everything. The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – three stars means three stars, you know? The AC works (crucial in summer, trust me), the kitchen has what you need if you’re the type to grab groceries from the local market, and the Wi-Fi is solid enough for video calls back home. What really gets me is how quiet it is up there, especially in the mornings when the call to prayer drifts over from the nearby mosque – it’s actually kind of beautiful if you’re an early riser.

The 8.4 rating makes sense once you spend a few days there. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but the owner clearly gets what people want from a place like this. The view does most of the heavy lifting, sure, but there are little touches that show someone’s paying attention – decent water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block the light, and surprisingly comfortable beds. You’ll probably end up spending most of your time on that rooftop terrace anyway, watching the boats head out to the diving spots or just zoning out with a book. Word of advice though – if you’re planning to visit during the high season (November through March), book early because places with views like this don’t stay empty long. And pack a light jacket for those evenings when the desert breeze kicks in; it can get cooler than you’d expect once the sun goes down.

  Welcome pack of water, coffee and biscuits in apartment along with hand wash in bathroom and a bar of soap. 297 LE electricity on the meter and lasted for 10 days. Full details given for key pick up at reception. Apartment has fully equipped kitchen although the addition of a toaster and a microwave would be good. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the TV is small. It’s a 32 inch TV but has lots of foreign language channels but is not a smart TV. WiFi payable at Reception and worked quite well for the time we stayed. Beware though, power cuts knock out the WiFi too. Small shop by Reception for basic shopping. We did our main shop at Bestway Supermarket in Sahl Hasheesh. Reception arranged the free shuttle bus to take us there and collect us. Irina, the managing agent, was helpful and very responsive via WhatsApp at all times. We ate at the restaurant La Rocca a few times where the food is excellent. We had lunch at Al Mastaba Cafe which was good. We also used both restaurants for dinner deliveries. Our second time at Azzura which we think is a perfect location if you want a relaxing holiday.
  
  What could be improved: We booked the apartment mainly because we wanted to use the amazing sun terrace. We prefer total privacy and did not want to use the pool or beach. Unfortunately the two sun loungers on the terrace were damaged and unusable. Irina tried her best to get them replaced quickly and we had one new one delivered after four days. She tried to get another from Azzura but it didn’t materialise.
  
  For anyone with mobility issues there are lots of steps to access the apartment. 17 steps up from the road and then around 42 steps from the entrance to the apartment.
  
  There is a lot of building work going on at the moment so very noisy during the day. Also the sun terrace is overlooked by apartment behind.
  
  We also couldn’t find the hot water heater switch on arrival. It is at the bottom of the cupboard where the water heater is housed behind all the cleaning equipment. A note about where the switch is would have avoided us contacting Irina late at night.
