I spent most of my mornings up there with coffee, watching the Red Sea wake up – there’s something about that early light hitting the water that never gets old. The private aspect matters more than you’d think, especially if you’ve stayed in those places where everyone’s crammed onto one shared roof deck fighting for space.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually know the area. When I asked about snorkeling spots, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a tourist brochure – he told me which beaches the locals go to and when the water’s clearest (early morning, by the way, before the boat tours start churning everything up).
