Honestly, when I first pulled up to Royal Lagoons on Al Mamsha El Seyahi, I wasn’t sure what to expect – you know how some places look amazing online but then… well, don’t. But this one actually delivers. The entrance hits you with this impressive lobby that’s got genuine Egyptian touches without feeling like a theme park, and the staff greeting you aren’t doing that forced hospitality thing. They seem genuinely happy you’re there.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to balance being family-friendly with couples-only areas – I mean, that’s not easy to pull off. The aqua park is honestly impressive for a hotel facility (not just some sad kiddie pool situation), and during the day you’ll hear kids having a blast, but come evening? The adults-only sections really come alive. The pools in the couples area stay surprisingly warm even in winter months, which matters more than you’d think if you’re visiting Hurghada between December and February. The location on Al Mamsha El Seyahi puts you close enough to the action – you can actually walk to some decent restaurants and shops without needing a taxi for everything – but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you’re not dealing with constant noise and crowds.

I’ll be straight with you though, the 8.2 rating feels about right. It’s solidly good, maybe even great in some areas, but it’s not perfect. The Wi-Fi can be spotty in some rooms (particularly the ones facing the aqua park), and if you’re someone who needs to stay connected for work, test it early and ask to switch rooms if needed. But here’s what impressed me: the food is actually varied and fresh, not the usual resort buffet nightmare. They’ve got Egyptian specialties that taste authentic alongside international options, and the grilled fish – probably caught locally – is fantastic. The service moves at Egyptian pace, which means slower than what Americans or Germans might expect, but it’s thorough and genuine. Also, pro tip: the resort gets pretty busy during Egyptian holidays and summer months, so if you’re looking for a quieter experience, shoulder seasons are your friend. The Red Sea stays gorgeous year-round anyway, and honestly, there’s something special about having those crystal-clear waters mostly to yourself while sipping coffee on your balcony in the morning.

  What could be improved: Beach is not front as you mentioned and it was very disappointed in addition there is no bridge or passageway on your far private beach for snorkeling and this is second disappointed

  All the staff are very helpful and friendly , the food ( main restaurant + a la carte restaurants + snack bars ) , pools and aqua , every thing is very good as a value for money , overall it was over our expectation and finally special thanks to reception staff Mr. Karim and Mrs. Jouhara for warm welcome❤️.

  When we arrived, we were upgraded to a suite which had so much room and the most incredible view. The private balcony was welcomed as we were able to relax in peace without a worry.
  
  We had a little trouble with the bathroom but everything was resolved as quickly and swiftly as possible.
  
  The service we received from everyone we encountered was nothing short of wonderful.
  
  This included the reception staff, especially the manager Wael, who arranged late checkout for free for us. The waiters in the dining hall and lounge area, specifically Ahmed, Muhammad, Mahmud and Mostafa. Maintenance staff such as Nagy and Amr, as well as housekeeping. The lifeguards such as Sheriff and all the recreation staff. The staff who arranged our drivers and excursions were also outstanding.
  
  Nothing was too much and everyone treated us with the utmost respect and kindness. They took the time to explain things and patiently communicated with us, considering English wasn't their first language.
  
  Everyone ensured our time with them was terrific. When we weren't in the hotel, we were still fully looked after, we felt safe and protected.
  
  We booked to go to Luxor and Cairo, and the hotel arranged female tour guides for us which was a welcomed surprise. They were very lovely and incredibly knowledgeable.
  
  Naser who was our driver to both Luxor and Cairo, was the most respectful man. He was chivalrous, opening the door for me whilst getting in and out of the car. He also had the most calming presence.
  
  We also went to see the local markets and a surprise tour guide was arranged for us, Zizu. He treated us like his own sisters and ensured that we had the best experience.
  
  In all, due to all the staff, our first experience in Hurghada was so much more than we could have hoped for and they will be the reason why we would return.
  
  What could be improved: The hotel itself is a bit dated and could do with some restoration. The food was repetitive and was bland.

  We stayed here for our anniversary and it was amazing from the beginning. The Saeed at reception gave us a free upgrade and a nice surprise anniversary cake. The staff were amazing the whole time, going out of there way to help you and making sure your stay is comfortable. Ahmed and mohammed Saeed from the canteen were really great always making sure we had everything. We had a late evening flight and they were really accommodating and helpful. They allowed us to have a late checkout for free which was soo great. I would definitely recommend this place. It's really family friendly, really good shows and activities for the kids.
