So here’s the thing about the Sabina penthouse – it’s honestly one of those places that grows on you. When you first pull up to El Gouna’s main entrance, you’re sort of wondering if you’re in the right spot because it doesn’t scream “luxury resort” like some of the flashier properties down the coast. But that’s actually part of its charm, I think.

The penthouse itself is pretty spacious – two proper bedrooms, which is perfect if you’re traveling with friends or family and don’t want to be cramped into a standard hotel room. What really got me was the terrace situation. You know how some places advertise “stunning views” and then you open the curtains to see a parking lot? Well, this isn’t that. From up there, you can actually see the Red Sea stretching out, and in the early morning (before the wind picks up), it’s almost mirror-like. I mean, it’s not the Ritz or anything – the furniture’s a bit dated and the AC unit makes this weird clicking sound – but there’s something authentic about it that I actually preferred to the sterile luxury places.

El Gouna itself is this interesting little bubble. It’s got this almost Mediterranean vibe that feels completely different from the rest of Hurghada, which can be pretty hectic. The Sabina puts you right at the entrance, so you’re close enough to walk into the main lagoon area where all the restaurants and bars are, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the crowds and music until 2 AM. Parking was never an issue, which – trust me – is not something you can say about every place in the area. The whole setup works well if you’re planning to explore the different islands within El Gouna, or if you want to day-trip to some of the dive sites. The staff was genuinely helpful with organizing trips, not just trying to sell you the most expensive options. One guy, Ahmed I think, actually steered us away from a snorkeling tour that he said wasn’t worth it that week because of the weather conditions. You don’t get that kind of honesty everywhere. Look, it’s a solid 3-star property that delivers exactly what it promises – nothing more, nothing less. If you’re looking for marble bathrooms and champagne service, keep scrolling. But if you want a comfortable base in one of Egypt’s more unique destinations, with enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days, the Sabina penthouse is worth considering. Just bring a good book for those afternoon hours when it gets too hot to do anything but hang out on the terrace with a cold drink.

  The staff were very helpful, the communication was cool, the location is great almost in the middle to the places we love most to visit , to din , to go outting and the lagoon was great in terms of the sandy beach and the calming environment 😊, eventhough the apartment suits four adults only it is very clean , tidy and suited with simple elegant furnitures, we as a family of four enjoyed the stay ❤️.

  What could be improved: – I was given another apartment from the one in the photos and I didn’t want to cause troubles
  – The apartment was unclean and dusty not even close to basic hygiene requirements
  -The unit lacked a lot of basic daily requirements as well; broken door knobs , sewage system and toilets flooded , tv not operating and no wifi access.
  -All the kitchen and bathroom utensils were too unclean to use.
  -The real estate company was rude and not honest started the whole booking with a scam.
