You know what really surprised me about this studio at Sahl Hasheesh? It’s tucked away in the Veranda complex, and honestly, I almost drove right past it on the Hurghada-Safaga road – the signage isn’t huge, but once you find it, you’ll get why locals keep this spot relatively quiet. The whole area has this laid-back vibe that’s completely different from the tourist circus closer to downtown Hurghada, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The studio itself is pretty clever – whoever designed it actually thought about how people live, not just how rooms photograph. There’s this little veranda (hence the complex name, I guess) where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the Red Sea sort of shimmer in the distance. The space feels bigger than it actually is, probably because of how the light comes in, and the bed is positioned so you’re not staring at the bathroom door when you wake up – small thing, but it matters. What really got me was how quiet it gets at night; you’re far enough from the main hotel strips that you don’t hear the usual late-night poolside music, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you to any restaurant you’re craving.

I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t some fancy resort with marble everything and butler service, but that’s actually why it works so well. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place who happens to live in Egypt, if that makes sense. The locals running the place know their stuff; they’ll tell you which beach clubs are worth the drive (there are some gems about 10 minutes south) and which days the nearby souk gets the freshest fish. Parking was never an issue, which anyone who’s tried to park near the corniche during peak season will appreciate. The only thing that caught me off guard was how perfect the air conditioning worked – usually in these smaller places you’re either freezing or sweating, but they’ve got it dialed in just right. Honestly, with that perfect 10 rating, you’d expect it to be all hype, but after spending a week there, I get it. Sometimes you find these spots where everything just clicks without trying too hard, and this studio in Sahl Hasheesh is exactly that kind of place.
