Honestly, when I first rolled up to the Scandic Hotel Hurghada, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I mean, you see so many cookie-cutter resorts along this stretch of the Red Sea coast. But this place actually surprised me in a good way. It sits right in the heart of Hurghada’s main tourist zone, which sounds chaotic but is actually pretty convenient once you get your bearings. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the corniche where all the dive shops and boat operators hang out, and there’s this little bakery around the corner that does incredible fresh bread in the mornings (trust me on this one).

The hotel itself has that Nordic-meets-Egyptian vibe that somehow works – clean lines, lots of light wood, but with these gorgeous traditional tiles in the lobby that catch the light just right. My room faced the pool area, which I was initially worried about noise-wise, but the families with kids mostly cleared out by 8 PM, so it was actually pretty peaceful. The AC worked like a dream, which, you know, is non-negotiable in Hurghada’s heat. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the local area – when I asked about diving sites, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a brochure but actually walked me through which operators he’d personally recommend based on my experience level.

The pool area becomes the social hub by mid-morning, and there’s this easy-going international crowd that gathers there – mostly European families and couples who’ve clearly done their homework about where to stay. Food-wise, the breakfast buffet hits all the right notes without trying too hard. Fresh fruit, decent coffee (though I still grabbed my serious caffeine fix from that bakery I mentioned), and they do this Egyptian cheese that’s way better than it sounds. Location-wise, you’re close enough to walk to the marina for dinner, but far enough from the main strip that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise. The 7.7 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend most of your time underwater anyway.

  "The location is one of the main advantages of this place. If you’re looking to stay close to attractions and restaurants, it’s definitely a great option. The staff were incredibly helpful, especially Sherif, who went above and beyond by lending us money late at night to pay for a taxi when we ran out of cash—thank you so much for that! It’s a quiet place, conveniently located next to the public beach and a lovely restaurant. Highly recommended for a peaceful and convenient stay!"

  Das Apartment 614 ist ein 1,5 Zimmer Apartment in einem Resort, in dem die meisten Apartments noch leer stehen. Sauberkeit und Ausstattung sind okay, aber durchaus verbesserungsfähig. Aber der Preis ist günstig, die Betten sind gut, das Internet ist schnell, das Personal ist freundlich und es ist sehr ruhig in der Nacht. Man kann das Schlafzimmer auch völlig dunkel machen. Das Wasser am Strand ist sehr flach.

  Das hotel liegt direkt in der Stadt und man kommt überall sofort hin und auch leicht hin
  Man hat gutes Essen in der Nähe und guten Café
  
  What could be improved: Die sind im Hotel noch am bauen und wenn man langschläfer ist ist es doch in der Woche zu laut
