Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Scandic Resort on Arabia Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes these mid-range spots surprise you, and this one definitely did. The whole front area has this relaxed, unpretentious vibe that immediately puts you at ease, and the staff at check-in were genuinely friendly (not that scripted hotel politeness you get at the big chains).

What really sold me on this place was stepping out onto their stretch of sandy beach – I mean, it’s right there, no crowded boardwalk to navigate or sketchy walk through town. The sand’s actually soft underfoot, not that hard-packed stuff you sometimes get along the Red Sea coast. And here’s the thing about Hurghada that a lot of people don’t realize: the coral reef situation is pretty hit-or-miss depending on where you stay, but the Scandic’s got genuine access to some decent snorkeling spots. I saw families with kids splashing around in the shallows while the more adventurous guests were out there with their masks and fins, coming back with stories about the fish they’d spotted. The reef’s not pristine – let’s be realistic, this is a popular tourist area – but it’s alive and colorful enough to make the snorkel gear worth packing.

The WiFi actually works throughout the property, which honestly shocked me because Egyptian hotel internet can be… well, let’s just say inconsistent. I was streaming videos by the pool without issues, and even down by the water you’ll get a decent signal. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the air conditioning works well (crucial during those sweltering summer months), and the beds are surprisingly decent. I mean, you’re not getting thread counts to write home about, but you’ll sleep fine. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night; Arabia Street can be busy during the day, but the resort’s set back enough that you’re not dealing with street noise. The restaurant food is solid Egyptian and international fare – not gourmet, but fresh and well-prepared. Try the local fish dishes if you’re feeling adventurous. That 8.4 rating makes sense to me because while it’s not luxury, everything just works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re more interested in exploring Hurghada’s underwater world than hanging around a hotel lobby.

  Excellent location with a private soft sandy beach. Private clean well maintained swimming pool. Good WiFi speed, some eating places nearby.

  Apartment is modern, clean and comfortable. Host very friendly and responsive. Snorkeling off the pier was good.
  
  What could be improved: Resort itself is not finished and there was lots of building work going on. We saw more workers than other tourists. It meant the corridors and lifts were not that clean.

  Unit is a 1 bedroom not 2 as posted. Not important for us this trip but might be for others expecting two separate bedrooms. The other bed is in the shared living area where a couch would normally go.

  The location and building where the apartment is located.
  
  What could be improved: We didn't like that a bed was right next to the door at the entrance to the apartment. This door doesn't reach the floor, the wind blows under it and there is noise. When we entered the kitchen there was a strong smell of food. The hood needs careful cleaning. The kitchen is not equipped with what is necessary for preparing a meal. The room has damp walls, with dampness and peeling paint, with the plaster ready to fall off.

  The apartment is very comfortable and spacious. Ramy was a good host and answered queries quickly. Comfortable bed and plenty of units for clothes etc. Great location with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. It has 3 swimming pools, a gym and is right on a private beach with a long jetty to a small coral reef. The kitchen needs more crockery for 4 people but I've informed Ramy of this.
  
  What could be improved: The noise and water issues due to building works were inconvenient. Some days the water was so brown I could not shower. The water pressure in the shower is very low. This is not the owner's fault and hopefully this will improve when the building works are completed.

  The property have very good location, it is near to Marina ( about 3-4 km ) and it is not too far away from Airport ( around 20min driving). In small radius You have many groceries and local restourant, which is very good. Also private Beach is really nice and very close to appartments. Ramy and Lucia are very nice, and they answered in 1-2 hours if You need something. They are really nice, flexibilw and helpfull. Appartment was clean.
  
  What could be improved: The building is not done jet, and some work is still ongoing ( like building, drilling, and material transportation with elevator. What I didn't like about Appartment ist old furniture, and old bedding, pillows and blankets. But still clean! I think the price is appropriate for the furniture and contents of the apartment.

  What could be improved: For four people, we only got 2 big and 2 small towels, no toilet paper, no soup, no shampoo, we needed to buy everything. The bathroom was not so clean.
