Honestly, when I first pulled up to Scandic Resort Hurghada, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place – but you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come when your expectations are pretty low. The thing is, this place sits in a spot where you can actually feel the Red Sea breeze without being right in the chaos of the main tourist strip. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the bustling part of Hurghada when you want that energy, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant noise of jet skis and beach vendors at 7 AM.

What really got me was how the staff here seems to genuinely care about making sure you’re comfortable – and I’m not talking about that rehearsed hotel smile thing. The front desk guy (I think his name was Ahmed) actually remembered I was trying to figure out the best time to visit the local fish market and reminded me about it the next morning. Little things like that make a difference when you’re trying to experience a place authentically rather than just checking boxes on a tourist itinerary. The rooms are clean and honestly pretty spacious for what you’re paying – the AC works well, which is crucial when you’re dealing with Egyptian heat, and the bathroom actually has decent water pressure. I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places where the shower was basically a gentle mist, so that was a pleasant surprise.

The location is actually pretty smart if you think about it. You’re about a 15-minute walk from the main marina area where all the dive shops and restaurants cluster together, but you’re also close to where some of the locals hang out in the evenings. There’s this little tea house around the corner that most tourists never find – the kind of place where old men play backgammon and the tea costs about 50 cents. The hotel doesn’t have a private beach (let’s be real about what 3 stars gets you), but the public beach access is literally across the street, and honestly, the snorkeling right there is better than some of the “exclusive” resort areas I’ve seen. The coral isn’t as pristine as it was probably 20 years ago, but you’ll still see plenty of colorful fish if you wade out a bit. Just bring water shoes – learned that the hard way. What impressed me most was that despite the perfect rating, the place doesn’t feel stuffy or overly managed. It’s got that relaxed vibe where you can grab a beer and sit in the lobby without feeling like you’re disrupting some carefully curated atmosphere. Perfect for travelers who want a clean, comfortable base without paying resort prices.

  J'ai séjourné dans cet appartement et c'était une excellente expérience.
  L'endroit est beau et calme, et l'appartement est propre et très confortable. La piscine était magnifique et bien entretenue, ce qui a rendu le séjour encore plus agréable. De plus, l'accueil était rapide et professionnel, rendant l'enregistrement et le départ très fluides.
  
  Je recommande vivement cet hébergement et j'y reviendrai certainement à l'avenir.
