You know what struck me first about Sea Dreams? It’s actually tucked away in this quieter section of Hurghada that most tourists completely miss – which honestly works in your favor. I mean, you’re still close enough to all the action, but you’re not dealing with the constant honking and street vendors that can drive you crazy in the main hotel strip areas.

The whole setup feels more like a boutique property than your typical Red Sea resort factory. When I walked into the lobby, there was this laid-back vibe that I wasn’t expecting – the staff actually seemed to remember guests’ names after a day or two, which is pretty rare these days. The rooms are solid for a 4-star place, nothing fancy but everything works (and trust me, that’s not always a given in Hurghada). What I really appreciated was the balcony situation – most rooms have decent views, and if you’re lucky enough to snag one facing the water, well, you’ll understand why they call it Sea Dreams. The sound of waves actually reaches you here, unlike some places where you hear more construction noise than ocean.

The pool area is where this place really shines though. It’s not huge, but it never felt crowded even when the hotel was pretty full – I think they’ve got the capacity figured out better than most places. There’s this whole section with these comfortable daybeds that aren’t constantly reserved by 6 AM towel warriors, if you know what I mean. The restaurant situation is honestly better than I expected too. I was prepared for the usual buffet mediocrity, but they do this mix of international and Egyptian dishes that actually tastes like someone cares about the food. Their seafood is particularly good – makes sense given where you are – and the guy running the breakfast shift (Ahmed, I think?) will hook you up with proper Egyptian coffee if you ask nicely.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk to some decent restaurants and shops, or there’s usually taxis hanging around if you don’t feel like walking in the heat. The beach access is the real winner here though – it’s not technically private, but it might as well be since hardly anyone else knows about this stretch. The coral isn’t as spectacular as some of the diving spots further south, but for just swimming and snorkeling right from shore, it’s pretty perfect. I saw more fish here in a casual swim than I did at some of the “famous” beaches that were packed with day-trippers. The only minor thing is that Wi-Fi can be spotty in some rooms (though honestly, maybe that’s a blessing), and the air conditioning units are a bit loud – but that’s pretty standard for this price range in Egypt. Overall, if you want that Red Sea experience without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist assembly line, Sea Dreams gets it right.

  It was nice, tidy and clean. The staff was friendly. The rooms were spacious and the location is perfect. With restaurants, shops/supermarkets and the beach right around the corner. There is also a pharmacy just right next to the apartment building, which is open 24/7. It’s not far by taxi from tourist hotspots like Sheraton Road or Marina. The view from one of the balconies is one of the best views you can get in Hurghada. Waking up and seeing the sea, gives you really that relaxing vacation feeling.
  
  What could be improved: Although, there is a washing machine in the apartment there was no dry rack or washing line to dry your clothes but we made a washing line ourselves so we could dry out clothes. Also the door of the shower didn’t close off well, what caused me to mop every time I was done showering. Other then that, no other comments. We really enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend it to other travelers/tourists. We will for sure come back!

  Globalement, l’appartement était bien, il dispose d’une super vue sur la ville et la mer. Il est entouré de pas mal de commerces utiles et de plages. La cuisine est bien équipée et la télé du salon est très grande. De plus, notre hôte a été très aimable et serviable.
  
  What could be improved: Néanmoins, on a eu pas mal de problèmes surtout le jour de notre arrivée où le monsieur de l’accueil ne parler pas un mot anglais, et à voulu nous arnaquer. Aussi, la piscine fermait à 17h, il n’y avait pas de local poubelles. Sinon dans l’appartement, la porte de la douche ne se ferme pas, on devait éponger le sol après chaque douche.
