You know what? I almost walked right past this place the first time – the name “Sea view 1 bedroom flat beside Russian consulate” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, and honestly, it sounds more like a Craigslist listing than a hotel. But I’m actually glad I gave it a shot because this little gem on Promenade street turned out to be one of those happy accidents that make traveling worthwhile.

The location is pretty brilliant, even if you wouldn’t guess it from the address. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the corniche where all the action happens – I mean, you can hear the evening call to prayer drifting over from the nearby mosques, and there’s this great little ahwa (coffee shop) just around the corner where the locals hang out smoking shisha until late. The Russian consulate next door actually makes the whole area feel safer and quieter than some of the more touristy strips, though you’ll occasionally see some official-looking cars parked outside. The flat itself has this lovely balcony where you can actually see a decent slice of the Red Sea between the buildings – not exactly a panoramic view, but honestly, in Hurghada’s increasingly built-up waterfront, any real sea view is worth celebrating.

What really impressed me was how thoughtfully set up everything is inside. The bedroom has proper blackout curtains (thank god, because Egyptian sun is no joke), and the little kitchenette actually has decent appliances – I made coffee there every morning instead of paying hotel prices. The bathroom’s got strong water pressure, which you can’t take for granted in this part of town, and the AC unit is newer and quieter than what you’ll find in a lot of the big resort chains. I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and while you could hear some street noise during the day, nights were surprisingly peaceful. The whole place feels more like staying at a friend’s apartment than a typical hotel room, which I loved – there’s something refreshing about having actual space to spread out your stuff instead of living out of a suitcase. The building’s a bit dated from the outside, sure, but inside it’s been updated with care. Plus, that 8.7 rating isn’t just inflated tourist reviews – locals I talked to actually knew the place and had good things to say. For what you’re paying, especially compared to the sterile resort boxes down the coast, this feels like getting let in on a local secret.

  This flat was absolutely amazing, perfect location in inter, everything you needed was available I have been to Hurghada so many times and this by far has been the best accommodation I have stayed at.
