You know what struck me first about Seaside Serenity? The name actually fits – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think with these places. I mean, it’s tucked away in El-Shohada, which is this quieter stretch of Hurghada where you’re not constantly dodging tour groups or street vendors every five minutes. The building itself is pretty typical for the area – sort of that Mediterranean-meets-Egyptian apartment style – but there’s something about how they’ve set it up that just works.

The apartment I stayed in had this little balcony that caught the morning breeze perfectly, and you could actually hear the waves if you opened the windows at night (though you might want to close them by dawn unless you’re into the whole fishing boat chorus at 5 AM – which, honestly, I kind of grew to love). The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped – I mean, they had a proper coffee maker, not just those tiny espresso things that take forever. And the air conditioning? Thank god it actually worked properly because, let’s face it, Hurghada in summer is no joke. The Wi-Fi was decent too, which matters if you’re trying to upload those Red Sea photos without waiting half an hour.

What really sold me on the place was how the owner, Ahmed, actually lives in the building. He’s not just some remote landlord – the guy knows every decent restaurant within walking distance and steered me away from the tourist traps near the main strip. Plus, he helped me figure out the local minibus system to get to the marina, which saved me a fortune on taxis. The whole area around El-Shohada is pretty walkable during the cooler parts of the day, and there’s this little corner shop about two blocks down where you can grab essentials without paying hotel prices. Parking was never an issue either – there’s usually space right out front, though the street gets a bit busier during weekend evenings when local families come out for their evening strolls. I’d definitely go back, especially if you’re the type who likes having your own space but still wants to be close enough to the action when you feel like it.
