Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around the Red Sea, but this penthouse in El Gouna honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how sometimes a place just clicks? That’s what happened here. The moment I walked onto that rooftop terrace, I got it. The sea view isn’t just some distant glimpse of blue – you’re literally looking out over the marina with all those sleek yachts bobbing around, and beyond that, the Red Sea stretching out like it goes on forever. I spent way too many mornings up there with my coffee, watching the boats head out for diving trips.

What I really love about this spot is how it sits right in the heart of El Gouna’s marina district – you can actually walk to pretty much everything without dealing with the shuttle buses that most resort areas force on you. There’s this great little café about two minutes away where locals grab breakfast (not just tourists), and honestly, the whole vibe feels more authentic than those massive resort complexes down the coast. The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that I wasn’t expecting from the photos. Sure, it’s only rated three stars officially, but whoever’s running this place clearly cares about the details – the kitchen actually has decent knives, the shower has proper water pressure, and there’s real blackout curtains (trust me, that Red Sea sun is no joke). I mean, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, but everything works, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like a real home rather than a hotel room that’s been sanitized to death.

The rooftop situation is really what sets this place apart though. Most evenings, I’d grab a beer from the little market downstairs and just hang out up there watching the sunset paint everything golden. You can hear the gentle clinking of masts from the marina below, but it’s not noisy – more like a pleasant soundtrack. Actually, the whole building stays pretty quiet, which surprised me since El Gouna can get pretty lively during peak season. Parking was never an issue either, which is honestly a relief because navigating some of these coastal towns with a rental car can be a nightmare. The host was super responsive too – when I couldn’t figure out the air conditioning remote (it was all in Arabic), they had someone over within twenty minutes. That 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not fancy in a flashy way, but it nails all the stuff that actually matters when you’re trying to unwind and soak up some Egyptian coast life.

  Perfect spot in Gouna! 🌅 The apartment’s panoramic lagoon view was nothing short of spectacular—waking up to those shimmering blues felt like a postcard come to life. Inside, everything was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, from the fully‑equipped kitchen to the comfy beds and reliable Wi‑Fi. The balcony quickly became our favorite hang‑out for sunrise coffee and sunset drinks.

  Everything was exceptional, from the host who did his best for an early check-in, the cleanliness was perfect, the house was speckless and very well equipped. We had an amazing time and a very comfortable stay.
  The view is spectacular from the rooftop overlooking the marina. The house's location is amazing, exactly in the marina, a walking distance from all those cozy restaurants and cafes.
  I would surely come back.

  Excellent location, host is great with local tips and also arranging a trustworthy driver (which is essential in Egypt!). Apartment is very spacious, we loved the roof terrace.

  The place is amazing. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and the host provided us with a crib upon request which was very convenient. It has a balcony overlooking the marina, and access to the full roof which is huge and has an incredible view. The kitchen is very well equiped and the location is so convenient. Coffee shops, supermarket and moods beach are hust a few steps away. We did go in a low season so it was quiet, might be busier in busy seasons.

  I was surprised at how small details were paid attention to. The kitchen was fully stocked, down to the spice rack, different vinegars, kitchen appliances, espresso machine and a French press. Wow! I’m wondering the owners are Italian….
  The bedrooms rooms were comfortable, the living room with a nice open space and plenty of lighting. AC in every room! The roof top was AMAZING!! With a BBQ grill ( bring your charcoal), two different seating areas, a swing and two lounge chairs for that perfect tan!
  They paid attention to a lot of the smaller details and had a complementary box of mineral water.
  This beautiful property in the marina was exquisite and surpassed my first visit to Elgouna.
  Communication was easy, with a lockbox ( for the units key) and simple instructions. Highly recommended!
  
  What could be improved: The master restroom bathtub, needs a couple of parts replaced like the stopper . The TV was hard to use but honestly, we didn’t have time for it. Otherwise, everything was spectacular
