Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I pulled up to Selena Bay – it’s one of those places that looks modest from the street but completely surprises you once you’re inside. The thing about Hurghada is that a lot of hotels feel like they’re trying too hard to impress, but this one actually gets the boutique vibe right. You know what I mean? It’s intimate without being cramped, polished without feeling stuffy.

The location is pretty clever, actually – you’re far enough from the main Sheraton Road chaos to get some peace, but close enough that you can easily grab a taxi to the marina or Old Town when you want to explore. I mean, the Red Sea is literally right there, and not the crowded resort strip part either. The beach access feels almost private, which is rare in Hurghada these days. What really got me was how quiet it stays even during peak season – I think it’s because they cap their occupancy, so you’re not fighting for lounge chairs or waiting forever at the bar. The staff seemed to actually remember guests’ names too, which… well, that’s not something you see everywhere.

The rooms are where they really nail the boutique concept. Everything feels intentional – the lighting is warm (not those harsh overhead bulbs that make you look terrible), the beds are actually comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re rattling around in a giant suite. I loved that they didn’t go overboard with the “Egyptian theme” decorating – just subtle touches that remind you where you are without hitting you over the head with hieroglyphics everywhere. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious, and honestly, the water pressure is better than most places I’ve stayed in the area. Small thing, but when you’re washing sand out of your hair after a day at the beach, it matters. The spa is legitimately good too – not just a couple massage tables in a basement somewhere, but an actual spa with therapists who know what they’re doing. I’d definitely book the hammam if you haven’t tried one before; it’s sort of a rite of passage in Egypt anyway. The whole place has this relaxed energy that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy your vacation instead of rushing around checking things off a list.

  I had a fantastic stay at Selena Bay Boutique Hotel! Since it’s newly opened, I was a bit unsure before booking, but everything was brand new, clean, and beautifully done.
  
  The beach is gorgeous — soft sand and crystal-clear water, perfect for relaxing. The food was delicious with a good variety, and the evening entertainment with live music really added to the experience.
  
  The staff were lovely and made me feel right at home. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommended for anyone looking for a fresh and relaxing getaway!

  The beach area, gardens, pools and outdoor spaces were fabulous !! Kept in excellent condition by friendly staff – we especially liked the kitchen garden area where staff are growing an assortment of fruit and vegetables.
  It was magical to see the horses exercising in the surf during the day, very special !
  The Arena Beach Club is a lovely spot for great food, drinks and we were very well looked after by the staff there.
  
  What could be improved: We booked a deluxe room with a sea view and there was only a side partial sea view that was somewhat underwhelming with an unfinished hotel taking most of the view.
  Our room was a little tired with dated equipment but with an excellent shower and a washing machine!
