Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Serenity Alpha Beach? It’s that moment when you’re driving down Safaga Road and suddenly the landscape shifts from desert scrub to this incredibly manicured property that somehow doesn’t feel artificial. I mean, plenty of Hurghada hotels try too hard to look luxurious, but this place – formerly Serenity Makadi Beach before the rebrand – actually pulls it off without being pretentious about it.
The location is honestly perfect if you want that Red Sea experience without the chaos of central Hurghada. Makadi Bay has this protected feel to it, and the hotel sits right where the desert meets some of the clearest water I’ve seen along this coast. What really gets me is how they’ve managed the grounds – there’s this sense of space that’s rare in Egyptian resorts. You’re not constantly bumping into other guests, and the pool areas (there are several, though the main infinity one is where you’ll probably spend most of your time) never feel crowded even during peak season. I was there in March, which can get busy, but it never felt overwhelming.
The rooms are well, they’re actually impressive. I stayed in one of the sea-view suites and the balcony situation alone made it worth it – you wake up to the Red Sea stretching endlessly, and honestly, the sunrises are ridiculous. But here’s what I really appreciated: the details work. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, the shower pressure is solid (you’d be surprised how often this is an issue in the region), and the Wi-Fi actually reaches the beach areas. Small things, but they matter when you’re trying to relax. The staff genuinely seems to care too – not in that overly rehearsed way, but like they’re proud of the place. Ahmed at the front desk remembered my name after day one, which sounds minor but really isn’t.
What sets this apart from other Makadi Bay properties is how they’ve thought about the whole experience. The beach isn’t just beautiful – though it absolutely is, with that soft sand that doesn’t stick to everything – but they’ve created these little pockets where you can actually find some solitude. The snorkeling right off the beach is decent, nothing spectacular, but you’ll see plenty of fish without having to book an excursion. And speaking of excursions, they’re not constantly hassling you to buy tours, which is refreshing. The restaurants rotate their menus more than most all-inclusives, so you’re not eating the same thing every night. That 9.2 rating makes sense when you add it all up – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing everything really well.

This hotel was beautiful and relaxing the rooms were cleaned daily and staff couldn’t do enough for us always checking to see how the holiday was going. The food was delicious we had most of our meals in the restaurant at the beach and there was always so much choice of delicious fresh food. We had the most fabulous vacation so much so we are already planning to come back next year with the family. We had a massage at the spa and it was really relaxing. The security at the hotel was really reassuring they check any vehicle over before pick up and ensure safety. The entertainment was very good and the shows were fantastic especially the beach party.

Snorkeling is great.
The hotel and the facilities are very clean.
The staff is very professional.
I enjoyed the food alot.
This is my second time there, Mr.Mohamed Sabry from the reception team remembered me and i felt like a member of the hotel family. This hotel will always be my first option in Hurghada.
What could be improved: Nothing to be mentioned related to the hotel itself, but you need to check the wind speed before visiting Hurghada.
The wind speed may close the sea activities.Ana from France – 21 May 2025 (10/10)
Staff was warm, always smiling, they are checking always that everything is fine, we did a honeymoon package and the stuff extra they gave us were exceptional!

I recently stayed at Serenity Alpha Beach, and overall, it was a fantastic experience with a few caveats to be aware of, depending on your expectations.
Positives
The hotel itself is impressive — from the moment we arrived, the sense of security and attentiveness was outstanding. The staff made us feel welcomed and well cared for throughout our stay. One of the first pleasant surprises was how efficiently our luggage was delivered straight to our room — quick, smooth, and much appreciated after the journey.
The variety of food available at the hotel was truly vast. With meals available almost around the clock, the abundance and diversity actually made the standard three-meal structure feel unnecessary. Whether you’re into international cuisine or local specialties, there’s always something new to try.
Entertainment is another strong suit of the hotel. Daily and nightly programs were organized to keep guests engaged and entertained, making it an especially lively destination. The hotel grounds are large, beautifully maintained, and feature multiple types of swimming pools catering to different moods and preferences — from relaxing to more family-friendly fun.
One unique and convenient aspect is the presence of facilities like a pharmacy and even a hospital on the hotel grounds. It adds an extra layer of comfort, especially for families or older guests.
If you're into pampering, you're in luck — there’s an on-site spa, massage services, a hairdresser, and several gift shops. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. A little tip: don’t hesitate to bargain a bit at the shops — it’s part of the charm. One shop even went out of their way to bring me dates after I casually mentioned I liked them!
The taxi services organized by the hotel were reliable and fairly priced, which made exploring the surrounding area worry-free.
What could be improved: Areas for Improvement
There were a few downsides, though none of them seriously impacted the overall experience. For example, our friends had booked a room with a double bed, but ended up with two singles that were merely pushed together — not the most comfortable solution.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort, but the speed is quite slow. It's enough for basic messaging apps, but don’t count on making voice or video calls reliably.
The hotel has a private beach, but it’s not ideal for swimming. The shoreline is rocky and shallow, which makes it less inviting for casual bathers. However, if the sea is calm, the clear waters and rocky bottom make it a good spot for snorkeling.
While the food was plentiful and diverse, the quality was more in line with a solid 4-star hotel rather than a luxury 5-star experience. Similarly, the all-inclusive drink service felt a bit on the budget side. Cocktails were often made with pre-mixed juices and only a dash of actual alcohol — more like an imitation than the real thing. A Mai Tai, for instance, was made with pineapple juice from a machine, a quick pump of syrup, and a dash of rum.
Overall Impression
Despite a few drawbacks, Serenity Alpha Beach shines with its dedication to guest satisfaction. The atmosphere is lively, the grounds are expansive and well-kept, and the staff genuinely aim to please. It's not the most romantic spot due to the crowds and activity levels — it leans more toward a social, energetic, "party-style" vacation — but it’s perfect for those looking to unwind in a vibrant, dynamic setting.
I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to relax, enjoy a range of amenities, and be surrounded by positive energy. A great choice for couples, groups of friends, and families alike — just don’t come expecting high-end luxury, but rather an enthusiastic and warm-hearted resort experience.Reinke from Germany – 17 May 2025 (10/10)
